Javed Jaaffery A lot of times when we have our favorite contestant, we want to see that person as the winner. And sometimes when the same person is eliminated, it hurts us. We the “audience” rule by our heart. For us none of the technicalities matter and sometimes we blindfolded see all of the things concerned with our favorite as flawless and supreme. To us none others ever matter nor can come anywhere close to the person we are in favor of. Sometimes we even go accusing that it wasn’t a fair decision. It was totally unfair. It shouldn’t have happened. World seems corrupted and all messed up. Yes it happens and there is absolutely nothing wrong when we feel that way. We are after all humans. And to Err is to human!

JJ But does that mean that the Boogie Woogie judges – Javed, Naved and Ravi are unfair or were biased in their decision? Heck NO!!!!! Boogie Woogie is the ONLY show that has been the fairest of all shows constantly from past 13 plus years. Anyone should be able to swear by their name in a heartbeat. I know I would!

Recently couple of weeks back when one of the contestant mother got eliminated, a lot of fans of that mother poured in their emails saying it wasn’t fair but I am sure when they relax little bit and look at the performances and compare, they will realize that it was the fairest of all Ravi and Naved decision. How much ever one may want to ignore the technicalities and go by their hearts desire but the raw fact is that technicalities matter. It just wouldn’t have been fair for other contestants who give out a flawless performance keeping the technicalities in mind and get eliminated  because they don’t enjoy as much popularity as some of the others. And plus we shouldn’t forget that Boogie Woogie is a dance show and not a talk show that one progresses based on their sweet words. I am sure all those hurt will realize it soon and it’s only matter of time. Thanks to Boogie Woogie for not introducing public voting or else we sure know talent would have been lost long back in midst of region popularity. But nevertheless Boogie Woogie stands spot free making us proud of its decisions and judgments. It continues to shine just the way it did from its year one. Hale Boogie Woogie!! May this show be blessed forever! “WE” Boogie Woogie India Website is very PROUD! Keep it Up!!

GF 5 On behalf of Boogie Woogie India (a Boogie Woogie fan website), we congratulate Saba Bari on winning 2009 Boogie Woogie Mummy’s Championships.

saba bari winner Saba with her sheer talent, hard work and determination, climbed the ladder of success and won the ultimate crown of mummy’s championship. Her flawless performances made a place for her in audience heart week after week. We also found Saba 9 out of 10 times in our “Rising Star” of the week segment which got her the place based on her performance.

GF 7 Saba is a trained Indian classical dancer and has been doing shows all over. She is also a full time dedicated mother. It was not easy for Saba to leave her child with her mother to take care and practice but she made sure her duties both as a dancer and as a mother were fulfilled and no leaf was left unturned. She makes all mother’s proud and rejuvenates the spirits among mothers that if she can do it then other mothers can as well. Saba should be a big inspiration to all mothers who have their talent hidden somewhere behind their kitchen and definitely should bring lot more mothers out for next years auditions out of their sweet homes.

GF 6 Congratulations Saba!! We wish you the very best for all your future endeavors and hope that your talent keeps on improving and spreading among others. Also keep up with your PJ’s as we look forward to seeing you back on Boogie Woogie stage with more of your finer performances. Definitely way to go Champion!! Keep it Up!! We are very proud of you!!

Mummy Championships September 19th marked the final episode of Boogie Woogie’s Mummy Championship for 2009. The series that was much awaited and many mummy’s wanting to participate, many in abundance who  went through the auditions and finally few of them getting selected, saw the curtain for one last time till the next series starts all over again. Mummy’s Championships was loved by all, it also intrigued lots of interest in newer mummy’s all over the world and many messages and emails got poured in to this fan site wanting to be part of next mummy’s competition for 2010. We “this blog” as usual guided them with what they were suppose to do.

grand finale Coming to the Grand Finale’s super hungama episode, it was interesting to watch that the finale was divided into two parts. In the first part of the show, all four mothers were suppose to dance the style they specialize in. Judges informed that they will be eliminating one mother out of the four finalists and the remaining three will compete in second round. As soon as this piece of information was told the only one word that came to my mind was “WHY??” I thought this was really a weird format to kick one of the contestant out right on the D day. But then judges word is judges word right?

fire works Soon enough the music was played and one after another the final four mummy’s started coming on stage to perform in their own special style. The first mother who came was Saba Bari who wore a red color outfit and danced Bharatnatyam on western music. The second mother who came on the stage was Ritu Gupta who wore a purple and silver color outfit and danced western on song Shano shano from movie “Yuvraj”. The third finalist mother Sonia Dias made an entry in her hip hop style and wore a black and white outfit. The last finalist – Saili Desai came in Bollywood style wearing pink and green outfit. And then all four mummy’s together danced on Boogie Woogie stage together and it was for the first time that they were performing together. It was beautiful.

Jaaved After the performance as per the judges, one was suppose to get eliminated and that rang the nervous bell not only among mothers but also in Boogie Woogie audiences. Jaaved Jaafferi’s comments were “bahut acha kiya, expressions were fantastic but one has to get eliminated so the results will be after the break”.

public After the break and a zillion advertisements, judges informed that the marks were equal between two mothers who scored the lowest and they were thinking which mother they should eliminate. Smile was lost from all the mothers and they stood silent awaiting the deadly results. But the results got a breath of fresh air to know all the four mummy’s will compete and no mummy will be eliminated. What a relief!!! I have a strong feeling that the judges were joking seriously ;)

The first mother to start the grand finale performance was Saba Bari who performed pure Kathak on song “laga chunri mein daag”. She wore pink and green outfit. Saba’s performance when you start to watch makes you feel “okay so she is performing Kathak as her final number and then suddenly she takes you by surprise. She dances Kathak like you haven’t seen before on Sabah Bari1 Mummy’s Championship. Her performance especially her non stop faster steps takes the cake and should be applauded. Many will automatically find themselves comparing Saba with the reputed Kathak dancers of India. A beautiful and graceful piece she performs which takes your breath away especially the second half of her performance is unforgettable. Her expressions were superb. As they say “save your best for the last”, Saba did saved her best of best for the last that manages to get all applauds by dozens. She stood clear and wide in her genre and proved that she is no ordinary mummy who came in to have just fun. She meant serious business! Saba’s kathak should be counted in Boogie Woogie’s finest performances and I am sure it has made the judges feel proud of the talent that was presented on the prestigious stage. The choreographers should equally be applauded for their fine choreography and also for training the mothers the best. I thoroughly enjoyed and so should you. MUST MUST WATCH!!! Coming to the judges, the song laga chunri mein daag is Jaaved Jaafferi’s one of the favorites. He said Saba performance was graceful and she executed it very well. Her expressions were very good.

Ritu Gupta1 The second finalist mother who performed was Ritu Gupta. Ritu wore a black and red color outfit and danced on medley. The remixing that was done for Ritu’s performance was exceptional. Ritu danced beautifully and gave in a very entertaining performance. Her dance especially at Usha Uthup’s number was fantastic. We could also enjoy every beat,  every rhythm with Ritus steps. The change of music and change in steps was executed very well. It all came out professional. The after performance talk brought mix of comments from Jaaved. He loved the enthusiasm but felt the choreography was a little less. He did like the overall presentation and enjoyed it good.

The next finalist mother to perform was Saili Desai and her clippings prior to her performance really made me nervous where she was shownSayli Desai1 fainting on the stage. Anyway coming back to Saili’s performance, she wore a beautiful blue color lehanga and danced on song “Nimbooda” from movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Saili looked pretty and danced prettily. Her expressions were fantastic. Her faster steps with faster music were superb. Few of the Boo dancers joined her for few seconds and that looked good too. Saili’s energy was great and she smiled through out her performance. Her closure made her do rotations and soon after the performance ended, she fell down in dizziness. Boo dancers brought her water and she was taken care by the Boogie Woogie team. The after performance talk brought the funniest comment by the judges when they asked Saili “Khatta khaane ke liye aapka jee karta hai kya”. Jaaved’s expert comments based on her performance were that she did not use all of her beats well but she did show lot of growth in her performance. They also commented that Saili is like Michael Jackson who when talks no one will know that he can be a powerful performer and the same way Saili’s talent brought surprises to all as many didn’t expect that she would reach finals. Well said!!

The last finalist mother was Sonia Dias and she literally made me cry with her performance. I was sure she would dance a hip hop number as her final performance and was surprise to see something else on the stage. But then there are many times in life that you would want to go after the trophy or money but then only once in a life time you would get a chance to speak your heart out, to be yourself and forget the technicalities. Sometimes it is necessary to dance for oneself rather then for the world. Sonia’s performance was such! She dedicated her final number to her late husband who she lost on her birthday soon after a week of Mummy’s Championships had started. It was painful for all Boogie Sonia Dias1 Woogie fans to learn of this tragedy and the entire scene came fresh in front of eyes in form of her performance. Sonia’s performance started with she receiving flowers and greetings from friends and then receiving a phone call with news of her husband’s death. Her expressions and her crying tears your heart apart. It makes you salute this woman who even after the big tragedy gathered herself up and came back to Boogie Woogie stage to complete her task and her husbands dreams. Sonia’s performance consisted of two songs, one – dil mile bina hi tut gaye, and two – shayad yahi pyar hai. You will end up watching the entire performance with moist eyes. It is a MUST MUST WATCH PERFORMANCE. Performing something different that is not ones forte requires guts but also conveys that the bigger trophy for Sonia was to dedicate her last number to her husband as her biggest trophy. Well done Sonia – we are all very proud of you! Coming to judges comments, Jaaved said Sonia didn’t look entirely comfortable performing the contemporary modern dance but her expressions were great and she did conveyed her feelings. Sonia thanked the judges and the Boogie Woogie team for being with her in her tough time and it was because of Boogie Woogie that she could gather herself up. She also was happy to find three great brothers.

After a flashback, the results were announced and honestly this time we really didn’t had to wait for the judges to tell us who the winner champion mother was. It was clearly visible as one mother stood tall enough above other mothers.

Sabah Bari1 The PROUD 2009 BOOGIE WOOGIE MUMMY’S CHAMPION is SABA BARI!! Way to go Champion – Keep it up!!

Congratulations to Saba and we wish her a dance like her final performance forever. We do hope to see more such finer performances by her soon on Boogie Woogie. On behalf of all Boogie Woogie India’s members, visitors and special mothers who were part of the auditions, we congratulate Saba. We also wish other mothers – Sonia, Ritu and Saili the very best of best for all their future endeavors. We do wish to see you back on Boogie Woogie soon and pray that all of your dreams be fulfilled. You will be in our hearts for a long long time!

Mummy Championships Boogie Woogie’s Grand Finale was really grand and in two words it is MUST WATCH! If you are a Boogie Woogie fan, then you are used to high standard. Watching many other dancing reality shows, it use to instantly make the difference of quality between Boogie Woogie and the other shows but then soon enough the other shows learnt the trick to be successful and the secret was to get the ex Boogie Woogiens as participants in their shows so that way the show is automatically guaranteed a success. For example, take ex Boogie Woogie dancers and apply a good marketing strategy, success is for sure. People will circulate the videos all over the world talking about their high standard talented contestants like it is happening right now. Anyway, we will talk about that in another article but let’s get back to Mummy’s Championships.

boogiewoogie Boogie Woogie puts hard enough work in searching for the right candidates and the performances talk it all. Going back in time when the auditions were going on for Mummy’s, many mothers felt they dance better then the selected candidates but then as the weeks passed on, the same mothers showed magic – a magic that only professionals were capable of. So was that the talent that the mummy’s came with to Boogie Woogie or is it the prestigious platform that transformed the mothers into professionals? Well we all know the answer don’t we? Yes only Boogie Woogie just like a jeweler, can recognize a diamond and polishes it for perfection!

dance The grand finale started with all mothers dancing on “Welcome” song and it was pleasant surprise to see all mothers that were there from week one. The next big surprise was that the finalists five mummy’s were choreographed by none other then the Jhalak choreographers and that hyped more excitement (not that our Sumit and Vinod is any less then them – they are Boo’s awesomest of the awesome!) The judges did inform before hand that one mother will get eliminated on Friday night and the cream of the cream – the mighty four will compete on Saturday night for the ultimate crown.

Sayli Desai1 The first mother to start the Grand Finale was Chupi Rustum Saili Desai who was choreographed by Deepak Singh. He choose song “Tinka tinka” – a soft sensuous number for Saili and she gave the performance a good romantic start sitting on a half moon. Saili wore a red color outfit and her performance looked like a perfect fairytale. Saili has shown tremendous growth especially her talent just before the quarter finals stood out the best. It looked like she was saving her best for the last. Smart mother! Coming back to her performance, her expressions were fantastic. The Boo dancers in the background added lot of charm to the performance as well. Saili’s performance was one beautiful peace. The after performance talk got great compliments from the judges. Naved’s words were - “kamaal ka kiya”, Jaaved’s words were “rhythm from point A to point B – smoothness was missing at places but it was a good attempt.

Neelu Rai1 The second mother to perform was Neelu Rai who was choreographed by Savio Barnes. Neelu danced on song “huyi mein mast”. The lighting on the stage was superb and so was Neelu’s outfit which was in black and silver color. Some of the highlights of Neelu’s dance were: when she danced in front of mirrors, that was good. The way she rotated the mirrors and her closure was very well done. Her beauty - she looked like a million bucks! The after performance remark by Jaaved was that she attempted a new genre for the first time. There were 2 to 3 awkward movements but it was well attempted. Neelu’s husband and Savio were both happy with Neelu’s performance. Neelu and her husband had also brought many gifts for the judges that were on behalf of couple of schools from Kalimpong. They had sent a bunch of scarfs and other goodies and in return the judges thanked all of the school committees for their gestures. Clippings were also shown from Kalimpong that spoke in favor of Neelu and how they want her to win the Boogie Woogie Championships.

Ritu Gupta1 The third mother to perform was Ritu Gupta who got Tina as her Choreographer. Ritu’s beautiful performance started with a person on Harmonium and Ritu wearing a pink color lehanga making an entry on a chatayi. She came up with an item number dancing on song “dil waalo ke dil ka kharaar lutne”. Ritu’s performance had all the ingredients that a item number is suppose to have plus it was pretty spicy to give all the required oomph to her performance. Her thoomkas, jhatkas and all of her expressions were fabulous. It was one fast and entertaining performance which can be called a total paisa wasool. Ritu got great compliments from the judges especially from Jaaved. His words were “superb”. He then congratulated Tina for her choreography. Jaaved also said the confidence level in Ritu’s performance was full and her mood was fantastic. Ritu’s husband was extremely happy with her performance. Ritu also thanked Boogie Woogie for all that she achieved from the prestigious show.

Sabah Bari1 The fourth finalist mother was Saba Bari who was choreographed by my favorite Jhalak choreographer Javed Sanadi. Saba wore an anarkali costume in green and red color and made an grand entry to perform Kathak. She danced on medley and gave a superb performance. Saba’s performance was graceful, sensual and mesmerizing. Her Kathak steps were perfect and with her performance, Saba proved that where all the dancers go for western and other form of Bollywood style of dances, she can prove to be a tough contender by choosing the Indian classical dance - Kathak. Saba’s medley consisted of songs right from “inhi logo ne” from movie Pakeeza to Umrao Jaan’s dil chees kya hai to “Maar dala”. She got the best compliments from the judges and some of the remarks that they came up were: Ravi - “base bhaari tha”, Jaaved’s words were: “you should have maintained your feet closer to each other but on the whole your performance was the best of the evening”. He requested Javed Sanadi to dance few steps of Kathak on the stage and what Javed and Saba did together is another that shouldn’t be missed at any cost. It was simply mind blowing. Jaaved Jaaffery couldn’t help but walk up to the stage and congratulate Javed Sanadi and complimented him. A must watch performance indeed!

The last mummy to perform on Friday nights grand finale was the hip hop queen Sonia Dias. I remember the talks from prior championships when the judges asked the kids to remain to their forte and not attend something new especially when they are close enough to the finals, this time around we saw mummy’s trying new almost every week. In one way it was great to see their adaptability to learn and Sonia Dias1 perform newer type of dances but then when the dancers are like Sonia who gets to be one of your favorite contestant then you slightly get a little nervous thinking why she is trying out a newer dance. But when Sonia walked on the stage with stage beautifully lit in red color and Sonia in red and black costume, you only end up feeling proud of this perfect mother who amazes you with awesome belly dance. Sonia performed belly dance on song “ankhiya milake” with a good part of Arabian music remixed in it. I personally had an opportunity of seeing professional belly dancing and Sonia’s performance was no less then the ones that I applauded for as the best. Sonia from no angle looked like an hip hop dancer as she shaked her belly and waist fantastically awesome. Her dance was graceful and yes “sensuous”.  She also performed a flip which came out pretty neat. She totally surprises you and leaves you all awe in praise. In my books she definitely reserves her place in top two mummy’s of 2009! Sonia Dias was choreographed by Rosita. After performance got both Sonia and Rosita perform belly dance on Boogie Woogie stage and it was fantastic! Jaaved came with good comments for Sonia and said “it was good attempt and she took his advice seriously. He also talked about the rhythm and beats. Ravi advised Sonia to keep smiling and that adds weight to her performance. There were couple of PJ’s between Naved and Sonia and for sure were funny ;)

Neelu Rai1 After a flashback, the results were announced and the one unfortunate mummy to get eliminated was pretty Neelu Rai. Judges spoke very well about Neelu and Neelu showed her gratitude towards the show and the judges and said she did not expect to reach the finals and is extremely happy with her entire experience with Boogie Woogie. It was also Neelu’s birthday on this unfortunate elimination day but the good part was that the judges and the mummy’s sang a “Happy Birthday” song for Neelu. Neelu bid goodbye with a big smile on her face. We wish Neelu very best of best in all her future endeavors and do hope to see her back on Boogie Woogie stage to spread the good name of hers and also of Kalimpong. All the very best Neelu!!

With the above elimination, Boogie Woogie selected the cream of the cream, the final four finalists mummy’s to compete on Saturday’s Grand Finale. Saili, Ritu, Saba and Sonia were the much deserving final four top mothers who emerged with their sheer talent and determination.

See you tomorrow folks ;)

Mummy Championships Saturday night brought the same pairing of tiny tots and mothers that was used on Friday night. The one thing that I must comment and compliment is Jaaved Jaafferi’s hair style. He sported a hap hair style and looked his best. I hope he sports the hair style more often and keeps the beard far away from his charming face ;)

Sayli Desai1 The first mother to perform was Saili Desai who came in with her Friday nights partner “Salonee Gokhale”. Now on Friday, Jaaved corrected her mistakes and what one would expect was a improved Saili and Voila!! Saili came in not only with full confidence but to perform and tear the stage apart. She gave a roaring performance with Saloni and danced on a Telugu number making an superb entry wearing saree and big goggles. This performance is a MUST MUST WATCH!! It was totally entertaining number. Watch Saili, she takes the cake from the little kid and dances better then nobody is watching. She came out completely different and deserves a standing applause. I definitely loved her performance! The after performance talk brought the best compliments from the judges in favor of Saili. Jaaved said she was in full mood and danced in same level. Naved remarked that she very well compensated for yesterday’s mistake. Ravi said she performed very well. Saili threw in another surprise by narrating a dialogue in Rajnikanth style in dedication for her son. Superb Saili and keep it up!!

The second mother to perform was Ritu Gupta who came in with master blaster Madhav Wazalwar. Ritu sported a black and golden outfit whereas the little champ wore a red and golden. They both danced on song Kambakht ishq ki aisi ki taisi. During Ripanpreet’s review yesterday, I Ritu Gupta1 mentioned about the song selection when kids are performing that one should be careful choosing as any attempt by kids to give out an adult expression on wrong wordings will make the performance look bad and especially Boogie Woogie is a family show so one has to be extra careful but during Madhav and Ritu’s performance, I really didn’t feel awkward only because Madhav was not trying to give some adult expressions… he was dancing just like a cute kid who constantly makes you smile in awe and so that made a huge difference. It is difficult to match up with the energies of a kid but Ritu managed it very well and was energetic all the time. Both Madhav and Ritu gave one thrilling and entertaining performance. Boogie Woogie’s Mummy’s Championship is in full form from last weekend and came up with one dhamaka after another. Talking about preference, I liked Ritu’s Friday night’s performance slightly better but totally enjoyed both the dances. The after performance talk was funny especially the Khali part. JJ in his comments said Ritu’s performance sounded confusing to him and the clarity was little less. Ravi complimented by saying energies were superb.

The third mother to perform was Sonia Dias along with Ritu Raj. Sonia came back to her forte of Hip Hop and gave a thrilling performance with Ritu Raj. A lot of times when kids are performing along with adults, our Sonia Dias1 eyes tend to settle on kids as the adult performer cannot match up to the energies and steps of the kids but with Sonia, my eyes were all on her and I found myself applauding this 36 year old mother’s flexibility and talent. Sonia sported a purple and pink outfit whereas Ritu Raj sported a silver and purple outfit. They both danced on “Ek Ajnabi” song and gave a hap and awesome performance which makes it a Must Watch! Closure of the performance was yet another one that makes you clap. The after performance talk brought good compliments from the judges and Jaaved remarked saying Sonia made it up very well for yesterday’s performance but he also mentioned about the unisex style of hip hop and asked her to cover that in her next performance.

Neelu Rai1 The next mother to perform was pretty lady Neelu Rai who came again with Shivalika Dhait. The performance had a sapera kind of entry. Neelu wore an orange ghagra and Shivalika was in red. Neelu’s thoomkas were great and both danced on Ila Arun’s song “resham ka surma”. The performance was thoroughly entertaining. Shivalika’s expressions were great and she did not overdo this time. Neelu looked like she was lost in her dance. The performance had a Rajasthani look and feel to it and should be enjoyed by all. The after performance talk brought the much awaited sher shayari by Shivalika where she also taught Neelu couple of sentences which came out more funny to watch. Coming to JJ’s comments, he felt the performance was little less then yesterday’s.

Sabah Bari1 The fifth mother to perform on Boogie Woogie stage is one sure shot finalist Saba Bari who came with Papiya Sarkar. Both sported red color lehanga and gave one energetic and entertaining performance. Saba is one dancer who gives her best whether she dances with a kid or a professional choreographer. She makes sure to keep your eyes all glued to her and so she did with this performance especially her thoomkas takes the cake and the icing. It was a treat to watch. Another point worth mentioning was her expressions – dont miss it. I am not going to say much about Papiya as she is one perfect doll and sure has a long way to go as she grows up. Must Watch Performance! The after performance talk brought couple of songs from the judges and they were funny in their narration. Both Saba and Papiya got great compliments on their performance by the judges.

The last mother to perform on Saturday was Ripanpreet along with Vaishnavi Patil. Both came with a western dance. Ripan sported a silver outfit with black jacket whereas Vaishnavi was in golden outfit. The performance was fast paced and an entertaining number but then Vaishnavi takes the cake and the icing from Ripanpreet. In previous performances, we spoke about how mummy’s, who even after dancing with kids Ripanpreet Sidhu1 or professionals, manage to keep audience eyes on them. Here Vaishnavi succeeds in keeping us glued to her with her perfect steps, expressions and dancing on rhythm which actually makes Ripanpreet’s mistakes more visible. Even though judges did not speak about Ripan’s mistakes but one could easily make out especially when she missed out and was late in her steps by almost couple of seconds in compared with Vaishnavi. Both Vaishnavi and Ripanpreet danced on song “Mohabbat banke jawani aayi”. The closure of the performance was good. The after performance talk informed about Ripanpreet’s popularity and phone calls from all around the world praising her talent. That …we are very well aware of as we too got plenty of Ripanpreet’s fan on this blog. Ripanpreet also mentioned about praises that are pouring in from Punjab in favor of the judges. She also seemed little confident about her winning.

Ripanpreet Sidhu The elimination was unfortunately no surprise and was written in favor of Ripanpreet. I don’t know why Ripanpreet lost her confidence that she showed in the beginning of the championships. When she performed first, I was sure she would be at least in top two contestants but then as time went by, her confidence and talent took a back seat. But she is a star and we are sure Punjab will welcome her just like a queen. We wish her the very best in all her future endeavors and hope to see her back on Boogie Woogie soon.

Mummy Championships September 11th brought tiny tots back to Boogie Woogie stage but this time to pair up with the mummy’s and help them enter the finals. One interesting factor was that this time around the mummy’s were not divided into half to perform on one day each but to perform on both the days simultaneously. Judges informed that the marks will be totaled and one least scored person will get eliminated on Saturday. The marks that were given were only based on mummy’s performance and no marks were allotted to the little Boogie Woogians.

The first mother to start the performance was Saili Desai and she was paired up with Salonee Gokhale. Now who isn’t aware with Salonee? Sayli Desai1We all know that apart from being a good dancer she is extremely good in her expressions. Coming back to Saili’s performance, beautiful props were used of dhol and dhol wala and that added charm to the performance. Saili and Saloni performed the Maharashtrian dance “Launi”. Saili was dressed up in Blue saree and Saloni was in yellow. It was one cute entertaining number. While watching this performance, you automatically get diverted towards Saloni as she was awesome yet again in her dance and expressions. The performance was peppy as the song and was enjoyable. The after performance talk was funny especially the judges. Cats mimicry by Salonee’s mother was funny too. Coming to Jaaved Jaaffery’s comment, he said Salonee’s expressions were better and he found the finishing was less but on the whole it was well attempted.

Sonia Dias1 The next mother to perform was the Hip Hop queen – Sonia Dias. Sonia was paired up with little master winner of 07 – Ritu Raj. One thing I am sure everyone will observe is that Ritu has lost lots of weight and looking his best. Sonia wore a green color outfit and Ritu was in orange. I think this was the first time that Sonia had attempted a typical Bollywood number as we had seen her mostly in western/ Hip Hop. Both Sonia and Ritu used good steps and made is a well entertaining number. Ritu Raj was absolutely adorable in his expressions. The steps that were used were great. It was one adorable performance. Jaaved’s expert comments informed that he felt feminism was less in Sonia’s performance and she should work on it.

Ritu Gupta1 The third mother to perform was our perfect mom Ritu Gupta who got little master blaster my favorite Madhav Wazalwar as her dancing partner. Ritu and this tiny tot put a brilliant performance together. They both danced on song “aana aaja na ab laage jiya na akela”. It was totally adorable performance and should be a must watch from every angle. The steps that both took were sweet yet fast. As the song was peppy, it added lots of charm to the performance. As we all know, when Madhav is on stage then the after performance talk has to be funny, sweet and adorable and so it was. Watch him choose Ritu over his mother just for pocket money. The comments from Jaaved were that both Ritu and Madhav performed very well and he said “dance khul ke kiya hai”.

Neelu Rai1 The next mother to perform was Neelu Rai who got little shayara Shivalika Dhait. The set was beautifully decorated using grass. Neelu wore blue ghagra choli and Shilvalika was in electric pink color. Both together danced on popular number “Kuchi kuchi rakamma” from movie “Bombay”. This pair danced like mother and daughter pair and performed gracefully. If you forget the technicalities that Javed mentioned in later part, then it was one entertaining performance. The after performance talk brought plenty of sher shayari by Shivalika and I think it wouldn’t have been fair if she hadn’t narrated her shayari as it was much awaited one. The comments by Jaaved on the performance were “confusion zyada tha” and it looked like she was forgetting her steps. Expressions were good and overall it was well performed.

The fifth mother to perform was the Punjab favorite Ripanpreet Sidhu who got last years winner “Vaishnavi Patil” as her dancing partner. Both were dressed up in colorful ghagra choli in multi color and danced on “Ishq Kamina” song. As soon as I heard this song and saw Vaishnavi dance Ripanpreet Sidhu1 along with Ripanpreet, my instant reaction was “Why this song????” This song is not for kids! If this song was chosen by Ripanpreet to perform along with a adult dancer, it would have justified but not with Vaishnavi. It’s just me but I feel, any expressions that any kid gives or dances on the adult meaning song would be rubbish. Anyway, I don’t blame Ripanpreet for choosing this song and blame the Boo choreographers for alloting the number to a mother kid pair. Forgetting the censored song, coming back to performance, Vaishnavi was too good. She was energetic and was rhythmic. Ripanpreet at times missed the beat and also was late in her steps by couple of second in compared with Vaishnavi making the mistakes obvious. After performance talk informed that Ripan forgets here steps when she is tensed. She knew she had messed up her performance and was clear in the talk. Jaaved gave a very useful tip to her and asked her not to think of mistakes so that she doesn’t forget her steps while performing. Naved too advised her to sing the song while practicing and that way she will remember the steps in your head. Ravi advised her “magan hokar dance kara kare”. Jaaved complimented little Vaishnavi on her dancing style.

Sabah Bari1 The last but definitely not the least and was the best in Friday episode was Saba Bari who got the 07 champion Papiya Sarkar as her dancing partner. They both together danced on one of my most favorite and nostalgic song “Lukka Chuppi”. Saba wore a multi color ghagra and Papiya was dressed up as a boy in yellow color kurti and dhoti. Both together threw in a graceful, adorable and superb performance. They danced in such a way that it straight reaches your heart and makes your eyes moist. The closure was great too and is definitely a must watch! The after performance brought the best compliments from Jaaved Jaafferi as he said the performance was the best so far and was executed very well.

With the above performance Friday night episode ended to bring power packed Saturday episode where all the mothers would dance once again before the elimination results were announced.

Mummy Championships Saturday night was the much awaited night as the best mummy’s were yet to perform and they were accompanied by none other then the jhalak choreographers. But this was not all, two more exciting competitions were lined up for the same day such as “cooking competition” and as well as PJ competition. A fun and thrilled day indeed!

The first mom to start the Saturday night episode was Saili Desai who came in with Lilian Mendes. They both rocked together on song “Karle baby dance wance” from movie Hello. Sayli Desai1Lilian was dressed up as a sardar and Saili wore a black top with jeans along with a silver belt. Saili looked very pretty and completely a different person. The confidence level was amazing. It looks like Saili was saving her best for the last and all of a sudden she comes attacking in full swing. A very well deserving contender. This sweet lady along with Lilian danced faster steps and was very energetic. They were stylish and hap. The closure was again very well performed with Lilian lifting Saili. The after performance talk brought good complements from the judges and Javed said Saili looked like an actress from the 60’s or 70’s. Saili then requested the 3 judges and in return to her request judges were kind enough to wish Darshana Kohli and spoke good words for her.

R & N The next that happened was the cooking competition where both the judges – Ravi and Naved visited the mummy’s to taste their cooked food and to judge which mummy cooked the best. They were served in typical Indian style and they sure had lots of fun. Clippings of audience opinion was also shown where people talked who they think will win the competitions.

The next to perform was Ritu Gupta who came in with my favorite Jhalak Choreographer Javed Sanadi. Who isn’t aware of Javed’s magic? He dances like there is no tomorrow and like nobody is watching. He was very innovative, fine and danced like he had no bones. Javed is extremely talented and when he is on the floor, you are automatically glued to your Ritu Gupta2 seat and that too on tip of your toes. Both Ritu and Javed danced on song “milke saare aish kare”. The flips they performed were good and as well as the rotations. It was a perfect entertaining number. The after performance talk brought comments from Javed when he said they were fantastic and also talked about the changed look. There were couple of funny moments especially when Ritu’s husband tried to lift Ritu in similar fashion the way Javed had lifted her. There was also a look alike of Javed Sanadi and he was none other then the Boo music master blaster who often makes funny sounds after judges comments. They both really looked like twin brothers! Javed also spoke high of Boogie Woogie and expressed how he wished to perform on Boogie Woogie stage since he was 14 year old and was happy to finally fulfill his desire. We sure do hope to see Javed Sanadi more and more often on Boogie Woogie!

ATT00002 At this point results were shown from cooking competitions and the first prize went to Ripanpreet for her chole puri, and second prize went to Saili Desai who had cooked a dish using coconut and third prize to Geeta Soni for her kachoris. All three mothers thanked Boogie Woogie and expressed their gratitude for creating such wonderful memories for them.

The last but definitely not the least mother to perform was Sonia Dias who got Savio Barnes as her star choreographer. Lets not play games and cut the chase – Sonia and Savio’s performance was THE BEST and is MUST WATCH FROM EVERY ANGLE!! This performance should definitely be counted as Mummy’s championship BEST and it is my FAVORITE for sure! Sonia has been showing an upper graph since her day one and one would find it difficult to pick one of Sonia’s performance that they didn’t like. Watch her perform with Savio and you can’t help but call her a sure shot winner! The performance started with Sonia on Savio’s back dressed up in Sonia Dias1 jungle attire with Tiki Totem poles in the background. The forest look was not the only one to look wild but so was the performance itself – it was wildly beautiful! The stage itself looked beautiful and the performance was voila!! This performance cannot be placed with none of the mummy’s performance as the standard itself was way to high even to be compared. Watching Sonia and Savio, other mummy’s should get geared up seriously and must realize that Sonia is their toughest competitor. What happens in future episodes we don’t know but if this was finals then nothing would have stopped Sonia from walking away with the prestigious trophy. Sonia and Savio danced on song “aja gufaayo mein”. The lifts, feel and the look was amazing. It was one paisa wasool performance. Another point to be noted was Sonia was fabulous in her splits and maintained steadiness in all her movements. She from no angle looked like a mother performing but a professional dancer who was dancing with Savio. Savio sure must have been proud of Sonia! I was mesmerized by this performance and couldn’t take my eyes off. Go and watch the rerun or get the videos online – it is one performance that SHOULD NOT BE MISSED AT ANY COST! Sonia and Savio got great complements from the judges especially from Javed as he said the performance was fantastic and was refreshing.

laugh Sonia’s performance was followed by PJ war between the judges and the mummy’s – Sonia, Harpreet and Saba. The fight was tight and both earned equal points from the judge Jaaved Jaaffery resulting the competition in a tie. One thing that shouldn’t be missed is Naved’s dance especially when he answers the joke right ;)

Harpreet Kaur1 Coming to painful eliminations, it was heart wrenching to see one of this blogs favorite dancer “Harpreet Kaur” get eliminated. She won our hearts with her innocence, sweetness and amazing personality. We are sure going to miss her a lot and hope to see her back on Boogie Woogie real soon. We wish her the very best of best in all her future endeavors! You are awesome Harpreet!!

Mummy Championships Before I begin writing about any mummy’s, I will tell you, it was one fabulous week at Boogie Woogie that came in for the first time in Mummy’s Championships. Mummy’s were at their best and from no angle last weeks episode should have been missed by anyone and if somebody missed then make sure to catch the rerun or grab the video online – it was MUST WATCH!!

Friday night episode started with the judges informing that Mummy’s Championship finals will be scheduled in two weeks from now. That means there would be all together 2 eliminations and remaining 5 mummy’s would enter finals to fight for the prestigious trophy.

jhalak-dikhla-ja The week brought choreographers of “Jhalak Dikhla ja” to the studios and with the name itself it sounded promising. The show began with four mothers dancing with star choreographers as an intro on the song “Aa dekhe zara” and it was beautiful – it was very well put together and looked GRAND!

The first mother to start the performance was the sweet honey speaker Harpreet Kaur who got Himanshu as her dancing choreographer. As soon as the name Himanshu was announced, one could refresh all the awesome performances that he had put together along with Gauhar Khan and so one could expect nothing but an exciting item. Harpreet started her performance in mechanic attire trying to fix a vehicle wearing a orange pullover and very soon she changed her outfit and came out all smiling in Harpreet Kaur1 pink top with white pants. Himanshu was dressed in orange color pullover. They both danced on the popular song “Aye bachu tu sunle”. If you are searching for the MP3 then please visit our MP3 category and you will find the song ready to download. Back to Harpreet – dancing with Himanshu one could see a much confident and almost professional Harpreet. She did not look a mummy from any angle. Wonderful job on her makeover and one must applaud the make up man of Boogie Woogie as the mummy’s looked refreshing. The best thing about Harpreet and Himanshu’s performance were the lifts and the closure was stylish. One could see Harpreet’s little daughter enjoying watching her mother’s performance as she was found dancing on her grandmothers lap clapping her hands. Coming to the judges – they were as usual their best (humble, sincere and informative). Jaaved caught the technicalities and informed Harpreet about the mismatched step. Harpreet spoke words of praise for the judges and also for the show – Boogie Woogie. She expressed her gratitude in obtaining the wonderful opportunity and platform that Boogie Woogie offered her and said "Boogie Woogie is dancers university”. It was great to know that finely talented choreographer Himanshu is an ex Boogie Woogien. Himanshu participated in Boogie Woogie about 8-10 years ago. Awesome!!

The second mother to perform was Ripanpreet who got Maricha Fernandes as her dancing partner. Now Maricha had already won our heart when she became a dancing partner to lovable and lively Ram Kapoor (Mr. Walia). Ripanpreet was dressed in the beginning in blue Tshirt with white pant and the shirt was one for both Ripanpreet and Maricha later she changed to green and red color top. Maricha was dressed as a Ripanpreet Sidhu1 male. Both of them danced on song “Ahun Ahun” from movie Love Aaj Kal. Their performance was energetic as they used faster entertaining steps. Scarf’s that were used by them added extra charm. Ripanpreet looked like a new person something that we saw in her first episode. The after performance talk got Ripanpreet many compliments especially from Jaaved who said it was very well put together and also complimented on her new look. The same Ripanpreet who hated to speak English language spoke few sentences in English in style. Good improvement indeed. Later one could make out that her town is really over confident on her winning especially when she said all her town people are sure that she will win. She also spoke about how she was told to be careful as Mumbians are pretty smart and might color an old car to give away as her prize. Call this innocence or over confidence but it was little annoying.

The next mother to perform was Neelu Rai who got Deepak Singh as her dancing star choreographer. Now who isn’t aware of Deepak? He created waves in almost all of Jhalak Dikhla ja and so a very strong and beautiful Neelu Rai1 performance was expected. Deepak choose Salsa and threw in an extremely beautiful item along with Neelu Rai. MUST WATCH is the golden two words! Both of them were in black color outfits and danced on song “zara zara touch me”. The performance in true words was sensuous and graceful. The lifts were beautiful and every step they took was spellbound. After watching Neelu and Deepak, one couldn’t help but use Himmesh’s patent words - “Superb, Fantastic, Mindblowing and Out of the World!” Neelu looked like million bucks. The after performance talk got great compliments from the judges. Jaaved liked the performance and said it was used very well. Ravi said Neelu looked very confident. Naved looked happy with the performance and had a great smile on his face.

The last mother to perform on Friday night was Saba Bari who got jhalak cheographer – Nishant Bhatt as her dancing partner. Now Saba’s and Nishant’s performance is another one that shouldn’t be missed at any cost. It was total paisa wasool. They both threw in a very entertaining number and danced in a south Indian getup. Saba was dressed in white saree with red blouse and Nishant in yellow shirt with white dhoti. The Sabah Bari1 song they choose to dance on was “chhori hai tu yaa”. Both Saba and Nishant’s performance makes you glue to your seats and watch without blinking eyes with the biggest grin on your face. The expressions that both the dancers used were hilarious and superb. Nishant’s moustache were another noticing aspect of the performance. The jumps in the dance were amazing. Nishant and Saba’s performance was one such that can make a person realize that the weekend is here and it is time for some fun hungama. It surely makes you forget the tiny miny problems of life and get absorbed. Must WATCH!! The after performance talk again got great compliments from the judges as Ravi said “dance mein wazan tha”. Jaaved spoke about the expressions and said they were great and also the performance was very well put together but he did point out that when Saba walked down the steps, she missed the beat. Boogie Woogie’s thaaliya person Mr. Vicky was brought on the stage and everyone clapped for him. :)

With this above performance, Friday night’s episode ended with the promise to bring 3 more mothers to compete not only in dance but also in PJ contest and food contest. :)

Saturday update coming soon.
