This above quote goes perfect for the gentleman we love and are paying tribute today. He is a perfect son, a perfect brother, a perfect husband, a perfect father, a perfect actor, a perfect judge, a perfect mentor and yes a perfect Human Being!! Perfectness is found in each and every action of his. You will never spot him speaking ill of anyone. He is a guy who is most helpful and has made many careers and helped many achieve their goals yet he is so modest that he will never speak anything about his own good deeds. There are people who firmly believe that whatever one might do to help others is actually not your own doings but God has chosen you to perform his orders. He is one of them. His greatness is measured by his kindness, his education and intellect by his modesty and his real caliber is the consideration and tolerance that he has for others. Yes he is none other then OUR own Javed Jafferey!!
Today “December 4th” is a very special day as Javed celebrates his birthday. And so do us. It is a day to thank God for sending this special angel on earth who continuously has worked for the well being of others. He is an awesome individual who is a real HERO in every sense!
Talking about his film career, Javed entered the stardom in 1984 with the movie “Meri Jung”. His good looks, perfect dancing skills and awesome acting caught the eye of millions. His dance on song “Bol Baby Bol” was craved by the nation. You will find the name “Javed Jaffery” and “Rock dance” as synonyms in India.
He is liked by millions and has a huge fan following. He is looked upon with utmost respect and love. One tiny example: since the time I started running this blog I have been urging people to interact and few interact but yesterday one post I made to send birthday wishes for Javed and the result was that within 3 hours I had plenty of wishes that poured in to be published for him. Many of them urged their greeting to be the first one. Many look up to him. He is loved by one and all.
Talking about being loved by one and all, here is an interesting perspective. How many stars, superstars, rock stars can you tell that are loved by one and all? One and all includes not just family, friends or fans but the real people who shed their sweat working hard holding the spot lights or the ones who get you a cup of coffee? Can they speak goodwill of a person and especially behind his back? My mother always says what we live is not the real life. The real life starts after we die. Our deeds are the most important and what name and fame one may get is not all. One may make millions of friends and fans but the true friend or fan one makes is the one who can speak well about you behind your back. And for that nothing can make people speak well of you but except for your deeds. Deeds play a big role in what people talk in front or behind. In Glamour world you will find many behave snobbish with the lesser privileged when they attain the star status. Some don’t even treat the spot boys or light boy’s right leave alone interacting with them or finding out how they have been doing. But “Javed” the Gentleman is different. You pick anyone from his shooting crew and they will sing only praises of him. The praises that come from heart and with love!
When in one of the interview he was asked: “why is he liked so much by all”, he answered saying: “’I think one has to structure yourself to be liked by people. Especially in this industry, people work around a false image. They then work on their image. It’ one thing to ask the standard question of the technicians… ‘How are you?’ it’s another to really mean it and wonder… ‘Where do you hail from? How’s your day?’ Likeability may have a formula, but being truly interested is something you have to find within yourself”.
He is an actor with inborn talent. He also knows the knack to deliver his point with ease keeping his humor side up. There isn’t anyone who is not comfortable in his company. Right from kids to grown ups, everyone can have a good conversation with him without thinking twice or about his star status. He is humble and he sure knows to guide and explain the rights and wrongs of life. His preaching’s often taken seriously because the takers do know Javed is a type of guy who follows every preaching that he says in his own life.
His love for family is amazing. Family has always been a priority and a strong pillar for him in all walks of life. Talking about his father’s advice he says: “He’s always told me to remain anchored and focused with my tradition, family values and respect for others.” And he follows that advice to the core.
Coming back to movies, I use to think No Entry and Golmaal were my most cherished comedy films that were ever made but once I saw Dhamaal, it instantly changed my mind. I never ever must have laughed so much as much as I laughed in movie Dhamaal. And Javed’s role was the total highlight. I can watch this movie any number of times and not get bored. Here is a small but hilarious clipping for you.
There is another movie which I can never forget for two reasons. That is Salaam Namaste. One reason of course is Javed’s superb performance and second reason is my friend. I remember when this movie had released; my friend and I had gone to watch it in the theatres. Watching the movie she was so very fascinated by the “Eggjactly” statement that she dragged me ten other times to watch. I remember every scene from this movie by heart. And I am sure many others do too.
I think it’s much easy to perform on a serious role but it is very difficult to make people laugh. Not everyone can succeed in comic roles as it is not everyone’s forte. Javed not only succeeds in comedy but adds his own touch of perfection to it that it becomes a masterpiece. The roles that he does are often remembered for a long time. He is selective but leaves an impression to lasts a lifetime.
There is one other talent of his that we need to talk about and that is his singing. I am sure most of his die hard fans know that Javed is an awesome singer. We even have heard him sing a happy birthday song in Boogie Woogie and even though he sang just a line or two but we sure can make out his good voice from it. Talking about his singing, the one song that comes to everyone’s mind is the one from Bombay Boys “I am Mumbhai”. The song again created waves all over and at one time had the most hits on youtube videos. It is a song regarding the Mumbai hoodlums.
Is he an all rounder? Yes of course! Let’s refresh our memories with this awesome number.
To sum up I will say, Javed Jaffery is a man of his words, extremely intellectual and devotional. He places his foot firmly on ground and never lets arrogance come anywhere near him. He is devoted towards his family and to his traditions. He is a man who firmly believes in staying true to his roots and understanding and following them right. He is religious and understands the true meaning of religion and follows it by heart. He is funny yet serious in his duties. He is a man of masses. He is considerate of all and respects one and all irrespective of anybody’s status or any other worldly things. He touches the hearts of real India. Having fans in metropolitan cities is maybe easy for any superstars but getting the status of being close to worship is totally another thing and that is what many of his fans do of him. I know if Javed reads my above statement, he probably will not like the word “worshipped” being used but one cannot ignore the fact that is there in many of his fans heart. The way he, along with his brother Naved and friend Ravi have helped many attain successful careers and have continued to work towards the betterment of society is a big inspiration to all. He is truly an inspiration to many youth and is a perfect role model for all present and future generations.

Today is December 1st – the last month of the year begins. For many, it is the holiday month as many holidays fall in December. Every where you see, you will find smiley faces, jovial people and all happy go merry personalities. It is the time when you hear bells really ringing in air and music filling your heart. Yes it is the most beautiful time of the year!
In North American and European continents, December is celebrated lavishly as the most beautiful time of the year because Christmas falls in this month. If someone asks me what my favorite month is – I would in a heart beat tell them “December”. This stands true for many reasons – it is because of the pleasantness that is found in air, it is for the holidays, and also for special birthdays – birthdays that are special to our heart. For Boogie Woogie India, December is extra special as two out of three gems birthdays fall in this month – Yes I am talking about Javed Jaffery and Naved Jaffery. And so we begin the celebrations here right at your own blog.
Javed’s birthday is right around the corner on 4th and Naved’s birthday falls at end of the month but before we celebrate the awesome brother’s, lets start by celebrating the one person who is responsible for these perfect brother’s upbringing, the person who gave us two awesome souls whom we adore dearly. The man in question came with a vast exposure of film industry and he still urged the importance of the right traditions, right customs and right upbringing for his family and that is worth many applauds. They say if the foundation is set right then the rest of the things fall in its place on its own and due to the same strong foundation that was laid; the output is that we see perfect mannerisms and gentlemanship that is looked upon with high respect and love.
So before we start to celebrate these two brothers, let us celebrate their father – the Man of Honor Mr. Jaffery aka Jagdeep! I strongly feel without celebrating father, it just won’t be fair to celebrate his sons.
Syed Jawaher Ali Jaffery who is more popularly known as Jagdeep has more then 400 films to his credit. He started his career as a child artist. Right from the beginning when he needed to earn money for his living, one thing he set clear for himself was that he would not earn money the wrong way. He preferred working hard but right way and did not opt for any wrong short cuts. He believed in living a respectable life with right standards and traditions.
Talking about his movies, I wish I could write the entire listing but maybe in future we will add to the archive but for now the one role that will always stay ever green in peoples mind is of Soorma Bhopali from movie “Sholay”.
One of his memorable moments is when he acted in a children film “Hum Panchi Ek Dal Ke” and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had honored him along with the other child artists. I recently read in one of his interview in which he says “Pandit Nehru” had given him his walking stick which he still has it with him. Isn’t that honorable? I surely think so and very well deserved too.
As an artist, the best year in his film career was one when all his films were nominated in the best childrens film category. K A Abbas’s “Munna”, Raj Kapoor’s “Ab Dilli Door Nahi” and AVM’s “Hum Panchi Ek Dal Ke”. For AVM he worked for almost all of their movies and was their favorite. His career in comedy role started with the movie Do Bigha Zameen and then there was no stopping to it. His first movie as a lead was “Bhabhi” which is my mother’s all time favorite movies. I heard stories of this movie since I was a child.
He worked with almost all the actors from the film fraternity and his favorites are Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor and Amitabh Bachan.
He strongly opposes vulgarity in movies and condemns it. He feels movies should be inspired by art, culture and sentiments. These should be the inspiration of a movie maker and not vulgarity. May be that is why we see the same fundaments in both his sons whom you never see, act or behave like any other Bollywood’s Tom, Dick or Harry would act.
In his own words in an interview he said: “We are not just actors. People have a lot of respect for us and believe in what we say. So we have a responsibility towards society and must say the right things for them to absorb.” Very well Said Mr. Jaffery!!
On a lighter note, he also shared the boxing ring one on one with none other then Mohammad Ali in Chicago. In an interview he said: “In a comic scene in Qurbani, I challenge Mohammad Ali for a fight. So when some people were raising funds for building a mosque in Chicago, they invited me and we had a mock fight. And there I was, trading blows with Ali. Thank God it was a mock fight. Else, I shudder to think as to what would have happened to me.”
Mr. Jaffery always stood tall for his principals that he set for himself, his family and also for his strong beliefs. He never sacrificed the love and dedication for home even though he had one of the busiest film careers. He always placed his family as the top priority in his life.
He shares special bond with his sons who look up to him as their number one Hero. As they say, sons carry their fathers name and so both his sons not only carry their fathers name proudly but also set a perfect example for the rest of the world to follow. The relationship is sweet and respectful. They say actions speak louder then words and so when you see the show “Boogie Woogie” and listen to both Javed and Naved’s each and every word and watch their behavior, you can proudly give away the credit to the man who deserves a standing applause who took the pain in taking care of his family and yet saw they don’t get lost on the principals in the glamour world. You can’t help but just fall in love with this family.

Today’s Look alike special started off with a special announcement that Naved Jaffery will be joining politics. So we might be seeing him as the future chief minister or prime minister. But for now friends do keep your valuable vote saved for him
Any guesses which constituency he will be contesting from? Maybe he will announce that in another episode but I am guessing it will be one of the constituencies in Maharashtra. I wonder if he would contest on behalf of some already existing political party or will he form a new party called “Boo Party”? What about Ravi? Will he join politics too? I sure think they both would make a good pair of politicians. They will be the first pair of politicians who would give punches to one another but all in good humor and still be the best of friends. We sure need some good politicians with good sense of humor don’t we? One thing is for sure – I can bet my money that the symbol of their party would be a punch with “BOO” words written on it. We might see them go around asking for votes “Vote doh vote doh - Boo ko vote doh” and the volunteers shouting “jeetega bhai jeetega Boo jeetega!!” or what about “Gali gali mein naara hai, hamara neta pyara hai”. What about Javed? Will he work on similar grounds like Sonia Gandhi does now?
Oh well the political talk was only a joke by Naved in today’s episode but I think it was a fantastic thought.
You know recently I saw a movie “The Heroes”. It came with a beautiful message that said “You don’t have to be a soldier to serve your country. Yes I agree! You don’t have to be a soldier nor a politician to serve a country. We each one of us can do our part of serving our country in our own special way. A Hero is someone who makes a difference in ones life. A difference that is for good - something that is respectable. If people are looking up to you then you are a hero. I along with many millions do think there are heroes in Boogie Woogie. They are making a difference week after week in so many lives. If they want they can turn around their marketing approach and join the bandwagon of other reality shows but no they firmly believe in humanity and continue to do their good deed in serving and making a difference among people. You will be surprised to know that the people who work in their team also act the same way. They say birds of same feather flock together and so we see a team who believes in the same strategies and has same behaviorism’s. During the auditions for Boogie Woogie, I wanted to get some information for the site and so I contacted different cities and was surprised that each and every one of them spoke softly, with full manners and was very helpful. It can be called a coincidence if it happens once or twice but if the response was same from all their team members then that is not a coincidence. It just shows what and how they are.
Although they are doing their part in serving the country but if tomorrow they decide to enter politics then it sure would be a good thing. Why not? We will finally see some unbiased clean and honest leaders who will really work hard towards the betterment of the country. If Ravi, Naved and Javed can built such high standards and maintain it for so many years they surely can be successful politicians as well. And India does need a good bunch of politicians who would be honest, and for whom “making a difference” would be a sole motive. So Naved - if you seriously think of joining Politics tomorrow – one thing is for sure – YOU GOT MY VOTE!!!
We all know Boogie Woogie is running for 12 plus years and has been the pioneer of dance show on Indian Television. As the time passes by, we see many other channels coming up with plenty to dozen dance shows. So what is the difference between all these dance shows? What does Boogie Woogie offer that the other dance shows do not offer or what attractions do they have that Boogie Woogie need to work on? Let’s see if we can find some valid reasons without being biased.
The popular dance shows that are found are Videocon Boogie Woogie, Nach Baliye, Jhalak Dikhla jaa, Ek Khiladi Ek Hasina, Ek Se Badkar Ek, Chak De Bache, Ustaado ka Ustaad and many others.
The one most prominent factor that plays a big role in Boogie Woogie’s favor is its involvement with the common people – the real people!! Most of the dance shows hire celebrities to keep themselves on the safer side so that they can gain high TRP’s. Television and Bollywood Celebrities rule the small box these days. If we talk about Nach Baliye which is pretty popular has television celebrities as contestants. Even Jhalak Dikhla Jaa has a celebrity and a choreographer pairing. All three shows “Ek Se Badkar Ek”, “Chak De Bache” and “Ustaado ke Ustaad” run on a concept where previously participated contestants who already gained the star status, compete to win the title and they hail from different channels. Even if we succeed in naming couple of shows that deal with the real people then there still will be too many glitches to it. But before we talk about that let me clarify that I am not against the shows where stars compete. I do enjoy viewing them. It is a good thing to see the stars being sportive enough to compete in television shows where their each and every move is observed by the viewers. We come to know of their attitudes, behaviors and also how much pressure can they handle or how much can they adapt themselves to newer things without really going insane. And it is not an easy job to come out from their star status and compete in front of many insane judges where they are made to feel like a peanut. I would probably go insane if I was in their place. But then money is money and more then money the one thing that is important to them is sharing the lime light. They say right – out of sight is out of mind so one must be in the eye of the public to maintain their star status.

And on cricket ground what do they do??? Let me not go there!!
I recently had a chance to converse with few youngsters who want cricket as their career and when I questioned them why, they came up with an honest answer saying “There is plenty of money, you can retire early and still be in limelight and the greatest reason to be a cricketer is to end up marrying a Bollywood actress.” Now would you say something is wrong with their thinking? Or would you say they are at fault? No I don’t think so. They say right “monkey see monkey do” so what they see their role models do, they will follow the same. Mera Bharat Mahaan!
Okay so now since we talked about the other shows, let’s come back to Boogie Woogie.
What is the factor that is making Boogie Woogie run successfully for twelve plus years? We don’t see the judges fight or throw tantrums or abuse the contestants nor did we see them running promos of contestants that belong to poor and financially backward family just to gain high TRP’s. So what is it that makes this show a class apart from others?
Without going round in circles let’s come to the points that Boogie Woogie stands tall.
Boogie Woogie reaches out to the real people – the real India
It is a disciplined show – the dos and don’ts are explained to the contestants prior to their entry on the show.
Every region and language is respected and encouraged.
When it is a matter of talent hunt – you see real talent not something that is found in every lane and by lanes and distributing 10/10 for the heck of it.
Vulgarity and exposing is strictly prohibited.
Family values and newer knowledge with the real meaning is talked about in every episode.
No Public voting what so ever!! This probably is the greatest thing that Boogie Woogie has. Many times on television reality shows it is seen that people normally vote to their own regions, language instead of voting for the real talent and in this process the person who really deserve to win is seen eliminated early.
Judges decision is never biased.
Loyal and appreciative audience – very important for the long run of the show.
Die hard fans.
Doors do not close at Boogie Woogie – you need another chance to show case your talent, you got it.
The only show to produce successful careers for many especially for those coming from smaller towns.
No self bragging what so ever is found.
Down to earth, full of humility and completely human.
A reality show that is more real where the common man can relate to the topics that are talked or joked about.
A show to keep its lighter side always up.
I can go on for few more pages but I heard little at a time is good. So with the new season starting in one week’s time, there surely is going to be lots to look forward to. It is only getting more exciting and better. I am hoping we get to see the new promos of the new season pretty soon. So doesn’t matter how many ever shows come and go or how many celebrities will be part of any shows, the truth is real people RULE! People play a big role in making anything a success. And if that anything is Boogie Woogie which is honest, and perfect to the core then making sure the show is success becomes the pleasure of the audience.
Last weekend “Diwali Special Episode” witnessed all the judges in Desi attire. And I must say they were all looking fabulous in those outfits. All three judges Javed, Naved and Ravi (in alphabetical order) are probably the favorite judges to majority of the viewers of reality shows. As a fan, I was all smiles seeing them in colors and in traditional clothes. It was wonderful to see them in Achkans, Sherwani and long scarfs.
We are fans and as we notice different things, we praise, feel happy and also sometimes we voice if something we don’t like. Though, I haven’t yet observed something that hasn’t appealed to me regarding these judges. Touch Wood!! We love them and so everything that we feel and the way we "act" make sense – just needs to be seen from a fans perspective. They say everything is fair in fans world because they rule with their hearts!!
With the above concept in mind, I dare to say to all three “Real Heroes” – Please continue to wear the traditional clothing more often. We also love to see you in Reds, Blues, and other brighter colors too. They add so much more charm to the show then the usual blacks, and beige’s.
Every week Boogie Woogie surprises its viewers by something new. They not only give fair judgment but also teach the good stuff. They have proved to be the perfect role models one can look or crave for.
We all know Boogie Woogie is a family show that is highly respected by all ages. It is a show that produces the best talent and also acknowledges and encourages real talent from all over.
I recently asked few bunch of kids “the new generation” of what they feel about Boogie Woogie show and the one word they often used was “Cool” and “Love it”. So this “Cool” show keeping its lighter side up many times speak words of wisdom. They speak the truth and sometimes touch the topic which can be very close to our hearts or maybe something that has been ignored or misunderstood. Whether they talk about IQ and its real meaning or the manners of how and what needs to be done or even the standards that must be maintained, without speaking much they speak CLEAR and LOUD and that is why there is no wonder why Boogie Woogie will always remain close to our hearts.
This past Saturday we saw Jaaved Jaaferi speak few inspirational lines from an SMS. I would like to take liberty and write it down for our members here with an intention of spreading the good word around - as far as possible!

So Friends, as much as your dreams are important, as much as your dance, your studies, your career is important, please do pay attention to family and to the importance of life. Live your dreams to the fullest but do not run too fast that your life is left behind. In the end, we do not take anything with us – so let us leave our good deeds to be remembered afterwards.
Friday night at Boogie Woogie saw “Jugal Hansraj” as the guest who also came in to promote his movie “Roadside Romeo”.
Jugal Hansraj started his career as a child artist in movie “Masoom” which also starred Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi. He gained instant popularity as the Masoom child and that gave a jump start to his career in Bollywood. His other movies where he worked as a hero are “Aa gale lag ja”, “Papa kahte hai”, “Mohabbatien” and he also did some guest appearances in “Kabhi kushi kabhi gham”, “Salaam Namaste” and “Aaja Nachle”. Now Jugal takes a step forward towards direction and has directed the first animated 3D movie under Yash Raj banner called “Roadside Romeo”
Roadside Romeo has voices of Jaaved Jaaferi, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. The movie has three main characters called “Romeo”, “Laila” and “Charlie Anna”. Romeo has been dubbed by Saif Ali Khan, Laila has voice of Kareena Kapoor and Charlie Anna has voice of our own Jaaved Jaaferi. Yes one reason good enough for Boogie Woogie fans to watch the movie in theatres. Roadside Romeo releases all over on October 24th 2008.
