A greed…y man will always find himself in the shackles of humility”

This above quote is Naved Jafri’s one of the favorite. And I take the pleasure of starting my tribute with his favorite quote of Hazrat Imam Ali!

Today December 28th, birthday of Naved Jaaffery came on big day of 10th Moharram. We all know Naved may not be celebrating his birthday but then how could we keep our wishes away. Naved matters to us a great lot and so we pen down this tribute as part of his birthday celebrations. (We do plan to celebrate his birthday in fullest once the month of Moharram is over.)

From a very long time I have been thinking what is it that motivates Naved Jafri to his humbleness. What is it that keeps his roots so firmly grounded as he never shows a sign of arrogance even though he has seen plenty of success. His show “Boogie Woogie” created waves and is part of India’s history as the first reality show. It has faced blockbuster success and yet we see Naved never feeling proud and responding in utter humility to each of his success. As I continued to get motivated and he kept inspiring me without even his knowledge, all of a sudden my questions were answered when I read the above quote.

It is Naved’s faith in God that keeps him so humble. It is his believe in the real world that never makes him act arrogant or get any type of complex. It is the fear of God that he treats one and all equal. His desire to remain a good human being makes him help many and yet not utter a single word about it ever. This is his true nature!

A lot of times, when we are surrounded in company of strangers or acquaintances,  the normal tendency is to avoid speaking of truth in case there maybe a clash of opinion. But Naved never fears a clash as he knows the one who speaks the truth pleases God. And pleasing God is keeping your books all straighten up for the real world that comes after this life. The necessity to place the truth in front of people requires a lots of guts and Naved is never short of guts. He has a knack of putting things in front of people in such a way that does not bring any conflict and yet explains technically and scientifically every meaning behind his motive.

Living in a secular country is often understood that all citizens must be having a secular mind but unfortunately due to dirty politics, many people believe the other way round. But gladly, Naved does not belong to that category. Here we see Naved who along with his childhood buddy Ravi never demarcates anyone based on religion or caste or creed. For them everyone is equal and must be treated equal at all times.

Naved believes in the goodness, and never is seen airing the bad fire. He doesn’t encourage any back biting nor believes anyone based on some silly stories. By observing him, I can tell that his character as a matter of fact reminds me of a Triple Filter Test story. I am more then delighted to share this Islamic story with you today:

During the golden Abbasid period, one of the scholars in Baghdad, the capital of Muslim caliphate at that time, was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem.
One day an acquaintance met the great scholar and said, "Do you know what I just heard about your friend?"
"Hold on a minute," the scholar replied. "Before telling me anything I’d like you to pass a little test. It’s called the Triple Filter Test."
"Triple filter?"
"That’s right," the scholar continued. "Before you talk to me about my friend it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you’re going to say.
That’s why I call it the triple filter test.
The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?"
"No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and.."
"All right," said the scholar. "So you don’t really know if it’s true or not.
Now let’s try the second filter, the filter of goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?"
"No, on the contrary…"
"So," the scholar continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him, but you’re not certain it’s true. You may still pass the test though, because there’s one filter left: the filter of usefulness.
Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?"
"No, not really."
"Well," concluded the scholar, "if what you want to tell me is neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?"
"O ye who believe! Let not some men among you laugh at others: It may be that the (latter) are better than the (former)" Hujurat 49.12
"And spy not on each other behind their backs" Hujurat 49.13  - Such is the believe of Naved Jafri!

Believing in ones capabilities and trusting your instincts is must for our growth. But these things can be done when you can believe in God Almighty. A stronger faith produces a stronger man. One life is all we have! Living it right is an art but not an impossible task. To reach our goal with shortcuts may take us to our destination but it often brings us back with a thud. Naved’s believe in God is rock solid and maybe that is the reason why the man is contended and peaceful. He knows that anyone can give up when things go wrong but to hold it together and have the trust especially when everyone else would understand that it would fell apart, shows his true strength. And maybe that is why God continues to shower his choicest blessings on him.

As I told in my last years tribute, Naved is the reason why this blog is here and he is the reason for me getting hooked on to Boogie Woogie. It is his goodness that attracted me to pen down my thoughts as it greatly has inspired me in my life. I prefer to address him as an angel as men like him are impossible to find in this world - he is the complete package from God. I wish him many millions of healthy and wealthy years full of everything that makes him the happiest. I pray to God that Boogie Woogie be back as soon as possible and may we get to see him along with his angel partners every week.

Mahayudh 2008 Winner and Boogie Woogie’s “All Time Favorite” Dharmesh Yelande is all set to shine bright on Zee Television Channel. He in his auditions round danced on the same number “Remo Fernandes and AR Rahman’s Flute”. Dharmesh in his performance had gained great applause in Boogie Woogie’s Best of Best rounds and was declared a winner. Dharmesh also won both the judges with great praise from “Geeta” and “Remo” and recieved the best of compliments. The judges did question him since he knew so much of dancing they were wondering what they can teach him? We are very happy that Dharmesh who groomed himself the best in Boogie Woogie is all ready to set new records on Zee Channel.

The other Boogie Woogie star especially Ravi and Naved’s and Boogie Woogie’s Choreographer’s “Sumit and Vinod’s” favorite kid participant and finalist from Kid’s Championships “Farhina Parvez” also surprised the audiences with her audition in DID. She danced on the same song that was taught to her by Sumit and Vinod “Janiye Zara Sa” from movie Dus Kahaniya. When Farhina performed in Boogie Woogie’s Best of Best, she surprised us all by not only her looks but we realized that our little Farhina who was just 11 years old grew into a beautiful gorgeous lady.

Both Dharmesh and Farhina has and are this blogs favorite. We already had written Dharmesh Yelande among Boogie Woogie’s best found. We do hope they will tear the stage apart with some brilliant performances in their new challenge. We wish both Dharmesh and Farhina the Very Best of Best and hope they emerge winners!!

As we were getting ready to publish this months jokes on the blog, it suddenly reminded us that these jokes were too good to just let them be published without any special mentions and so we are dedicating the jokes to one particular channel that has been going revamp after revamp …. Well no special prizes for any guesses here

By trying to drown the fish in the sea.

What do you do if a television channel threatens to throw a grenade at you?
Pull the pin and throw it back.

How did the television channel fell apart?
He tripped over its senseless and cordless shows.

Why did the television channel climb the glass wall while revamping?
To see what was on the other side!

How did the channel try to kill its competitors? 
Flop “Revamping” for every six weeks !

How do you confuse between a moron and a flop revamped television channel?
Put them in a round room and tell them to sit in one corner!

Why did the channel that went for revamp turned around and went for another revamp?
Because he saw the sign that said “practice makes the man perfect”. LOL

Its almost going to be three months since Boogie Woogie took a break. Our innumerous attempts in contacting the main guys “Jaaved, Naved and Ravi Behl” unfortunately resulted in no news from them. We were almost on verge of giving up on our search just then we received an unknown envelope with the photograph inside. The photograph explains about the long wait for Boogie Woogie fans and where the judges have disappeared. Please see and judge yourselves

And this inspiration has been shared for more then couple of decades and that too making it sound very simple, humble and with full of kindness!

Normally on every birthday of our dear judges, I pay a tribute and publish it here on Boogie Woogie India Blog. I was told “a tribute is a testament that speaks of a persons reputation.” But then a question was raised on my mind concerning the word “Reputation” that “if a tribute means speaking of ones reputation then do I really qualify to write a testament?” What am I? Only a commoner and my words is almost of no value so should I be allowed to write a tribute especially if its regarding a person who has no dearth of people singing his praises round the clock? And so this question really halted me from publishing my tribute but then a tribute is a tribute that can be paid by anyone and commoner or no commoner does not really matter! I strongly believe that it is, most of the time the only way of fulfilling the “desire” of  doing something and as well as paying respect to the person who is greatly admired and adored and so with this thought I pen down my tribute for none other then our own Jaaved Jaaffery!!

Everyone is aware that Jaaved has great popular appeal. He is widely known in every family and enjoys a very prominent and successful career. He has greatly contributed to Indian Cinema and as a matter of fact there are areas in Indian Cinema that cannot be talked unless we talk about Jaaved first! That is his power, that is his magic! He is a  “Superstar!!” Yes Of course he is!! But today I am not going to talk about his accomplishments or about his film journey but rather talk about how I see him and what Jaaved Jaaffery sounds in my own perspective.

I strongly believe that Jaaved Jaaffery belongs to that very small category of celebrities who does not act like other celebrities at all. He is well aware of his status and successes yet he believes in having his feet firmly on ground. He believes firmly in the real world and does not let the world glitter get to his head. He is God fearing and a perfect human being! His humility sets new examples every time. His humble nature does the magic that very few celebrities are even capable of.

Humility is not something that comes naturally to most, especially in Bollywood. There you will see many taking advantage of a situation trying to get ahead or make themselves look good faking but ultimately it really doesn’t do much as the popularity gets limited only to the big or small screen. Once the audience are out of the screen, they tend to forget and hence such celebrities fail to make their mark at the most prominent place and that is of a commoners heart! But Jaaved is a humble person who never boasts or try to impress by adopting the short cuts ever. There has been many situations when he was praised and he responded very humbly making himself sound just like anybody else - like one of us, a commoner. There isn’t a production house that he didn’t work for. Everyone in the Industry loves him and loves to work with him for the man that he is and for the talent that he possess. He is never seen boasting himself up singing his praises that he worked for so and so banner. For him a work is a work and he treats everyone equally.

Reality shows are very popular and we are aware that most reality shows bring the common people offering them a platform to show case their talent. It has been proved from time and time that people facing the camera just once changes their attitudes soon after their initial success but here we see a man who has been in the industry for a good amount of period of more then 25 years, seen multiple successes and continues to shine bright with one hit after the other all the time, sets new records in comedy every time he steps in and yet sounds so SIMPLE!! It is just amazingly unbelievable!

It is said that evolution is as much of a biological issue as it is an ethical one: the higher you are on the evolutionary ladder, the more important become ethics, or the concepts of right and wrong. In fact, what sets Man apart from animals is a heightened sense of ethical and moral value—be it in the soothing realm of the family or the rapidly competitive world of work. Jaaved’s values and what he believes in defines who he is and how he approaches his every activity. His integrity and respect can be seen in all his actions and thus it results in immense amount of respect and love from all over his fans. His excellence in not just his field but as a human being itself is a rare thing to find in the present world. His fans sees his character as his biggest strength and his dignity, kindness, courtesy, good manners is good enough to bold anyone over with love.

A good citizen is one who recognizes his responsibility towards the community and works towards it making it better. A good citizen respects others and their property. He or she is helpful, considerate, willing to put others first, listens to their views with patience, thinks about what they have to say. A good citizen is also one who helps others especially those who are not in a position to help themselves. He or she respects the environment and encourages others from not damaging it in anyway. All these qualities and much more are easily found in Jaaved Jaaffery.

Jaaved is loved by his fans also for his open and honest communication. His way of bringing the finer points out of the topics that are essential and presenting them in a way that can be adopted easily sets good standards and makes his loyal fans proud and love him more for his contribution towards the society. He is never shy to learn new things. The way he evaluates and gives out the results has already set a record in its own making the show Boogie Woogie “IRREPLACABLE!!”He has made a difference and continues to make a difference in the society and so the nation is very proud of him!

Jaaved Jaaffery is the good messiah of the present world who not only spreads his goodness by being a good human but also helps others in becoming one. His relationship with everyone is sweet and respectful. His bonding with his family is amazing. His principals speaks their own story in abundance and proves that goodwill is not over yet at least till the time there are families like the “Jafri” family, there will be hope and after all this world will not be a bad place to live!
