As we mentioned in our earlier post, a fantastic spoof by judges that almost made people wonder if Boogie Woogie is going on similar grounds as of other reality shows and later on knowing that it was only a joke, it did bring a big sigh of relief thus the performances of Mummy’s began.
The first mother to perform on Saturday night was Shilpa Joshi who got her dance teacher Abhijit Kurpe as her partner. They both danced on Goan/Marathi song and threw in a performance with all the spice that was needed for that particular category. It was fast, energetic and both gave good expressions. Both together also made a good pair. The after performance talk brought a question from the judges why Shilpa had chosen her teacher as her partner and on that she answered it was due to the chemistry and comfort. Another question that was asked to Shilpa was if she trust her husband or doubts him and on that she answered since she lives in Pune and her husband works in Mumbai so its better for her in not doubting her husband so that her marriage life can run smoothly. Very well said! Smart answer!
The second mother that performed on Boogie Woogie stage was Darshana Kohli and she danced with her partner Ashwini Soni. Ashwini is Darshana’s friend’s daughter and is 13 years old. They both danced on song Mere dholna sun. Darshana wore a bharatnatyam yellow color costume and Ashiwini was dressed as a boy in red color dhoti. Both together threw in a very graceful, energetic and totally synched performance. Judges had constant smile on their faces while watching this performance. The rotations that both Darshana and Ashwini did were fabulous and judges complimented on the same point. JJ – Javed Jaafferi stood up to give a standing applause and also said she chose a very good partner and both were great together. The three bollywood actors according to Darshana that go well with the three judges were Jaaved as Amitabh, Naved as Rishi Kapoor and Ravi as Vinod Khanna or was it vice versa? Please pardon me if I have mixed Darshana’s choice. On the whole it was lovely performance that you shouldn’t miss.
The next mother to perform was Mini Srivastava who got her little 11 year old daughter Sanjoli Srivastava to perform on Boogie Woogie stage. Both together danced on song “chotisi umar mein lag gaya rog”. It was the cutest performance. Both mother and daughter looked and danced adorably and wore costumes in shiny red and blue color. Both complimented each other and looked pretty. For a mother, there is no bigger award then to perform or do something along with her own daughter and I am sure Mini is going to remember this performance as her most cherished event of her life. It definitely should be the same for her daughter as well! Mini took rotations on her knees and that was commendable. The entire performance was very entertaining. The after performance talk brought good smart dialogue delivery from Mini and when Javed pointed that Sanjoli danced better then Mini, Mini immediately was happy and said “beti toh bahut achi dancer hai”. Naved did compliment her on choosing a good partner.
The fourth mother to perform was Ritu Gupta who brought her friends daughter – Muskan Dua who is only 11 years old. They both wore blue and red color ghagra and threw in a very energetic performance. The 11 year old Muskan doesn’t look 11 as she matched her aunts performance to the core. They also wore smiles that added extra charm to their performance. Ritu’s matkas and jhatkas were the highlight. They both danced on song “badh dhad chali” song. Pardon me if the title is wrong but you can always correct me. During after performance talk, when Ritu was asked a question on why she choose Muskan as her partner, she answered saying, Muskan was the first person who helped her when Ritu started her dance school and so this partner round performance wouldn’t have been fair without her real time partner. Bravo! The other question about her husband going to bed early was hilarious. What is must watch is watch out for Ravi trying his best to add fuel to the fire and start up a misunderstanding between the couple jokingly. There was a very heart touching talk especially when Ritu talked about her younger son when he was suffering from “Aden” – which is kind of brain fever. She also thanked her doctor Dr. Udani who worked wonders on the little boy and made him stand up hale and hearty within one and half month period. Bravo!!
The last mother to perform before the results was Saba Bari who brought her brother Dev to perform on Boogie Woogie stage. Once again, if their was voting system for Boogie Woogie, Saba would walk away with all the votes because of her brother. I am sure all the girls would have voted this energetic and charming brother who was excellent in his expressions and his smiles should win everyones heart! It definitely is a MUST Watch performance. Saba and her brother Dev danced on song “Radha kaise na jale” from movie lagaan. They looked perfect dancing couple. Saba was also awesome in her dance steps and in her expressions. They take the cake and icing for Saturday night as they had all the charm to attract your attention. Don’t miss out! Must Watch! The after performance talk got compliments from Javed and Ravi too spoke about the Saba’s smile and her eyes.
Now it was time for the judges to announce the results. Javed announced the results with utmost humility. There were 7 mummy’s that qualified for the next round and the results are as follows:

3) Lavanya/ Soundarya
4) Saba Bari/ Dev
5) Shilpa Joshi/ Abhijit Kurpe
6) Ritu Gupta/ Muskan Dua
