Boogie Woogie India Blog!
As we all know, on July 11th, we celebrated our anniversary of Boogie Woogie India Blog. Boogie Woogie India is a fan blog running in appreciation and fully dedicated to the show and our dear judges – Ravi, Naved and Jaaved. As part of our celebrations, we gave ourselves a day off only to return today to be surprised pleasantly.
Our dear Firdaus left us a message congratulating us on the occasion and rejuvenating our spirits once again. She also brought us a personalized message from the judges – Ravi, Naved and Jaaved. Here is their message for all of you folks:

Boogie Woogie Chalo America 2009 will finally be telecasted on July 19th 2009 at 3:30 PM on Sony Channel.
Please make sure to tune in to your TV’s at 3:30 PM and make sure to watch what a fabulous talent America has got. Who says Indian culture lives only in India? You will be surprised to find the real Indians living abroad and also following their culture religiously. Make sure to encourage and applaud them. One day a housework-challenged husband decided to wash his Sweat-shirt. Seconds after he stepped into the laundry room, he shouted to his wife, "What setting do I use on the washing machine?"
"It depends," She replied. "What does it say on your shirt?"
He yelled back, "University of Oklahoma."
Rick, a husband was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was really angry. She told him “Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in less than 10 seconds, AND IT BETTER BE THERE!!”
The next morning Rick got up early and left for work. When his wife woke up she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway. Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, and brought the box back in the house.
She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.

A married couple in their early 60s was celebrating their 40th wedding
anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant.
Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their table.? She said,
‘For being such an exemplary married couple and for being loving to each other for all this time, I will grant you each a wish.’
The wife answered, ‘Oh, I want to travel around the world with my darling husband. The fairy waved her magic wand and – poof! – two tickets for the Queen Mary II appeared in her hands.
The husband thought for a moment: ‘Well, this is all very romantic, but an opportunity like this will never come again. I’m sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger than me.
The wife, and the fairy, were deeply disappointed, but a wish is a wish.
So the fairy waved her magic wand and poof!…the husband became 92 years old.

As we know Boogie Woogie’s most demanded dancing episodes that all the teenagers crave for are the ones that come with stunts. When the youngsters watch the stunts performed by professionals, they start to search how to master those skills for themselves. Today we are not teaching you any techniques or talking about any particular dance, but brining you a video from YouTube that can surely inspire you and we are sure you will learn many tips from the awesome guys called “TeamTokyo” who are practicing their skills with the right equipment and right place but having fun at the same time. Every bit we come across in life comes with a learning lesson – Enjoy Watching!!
Saturday night came with total packed entertainment that Boogie Woogie always stands for – Dance, Good Judgement and Plenty of Humor! There were many moments in this episode that if anytime you had a doubt how come Boogie Woogie is running for 13 plus years or what is its secret, then it should clear you. It not only stands tall and clear all above but also makes you fall in love more deeply and so just like everybody else we too pray that may this show go on forever and forever as it rocks solid!!
The first mother to perform was Chhaya Shah who came in with her friend Poonam Kher to perform on Saturday night. Chhaya and Poonam wore beautiful red color salwar kurta and danced to a punjabi number. The two Gujrati dames got into the Punjabi spirits and from no angle their performance looked like it was being performed by non Punjabi’s. It was total entertaining. The after performance talk brought some funny moments with Chhaya’s son trying to speak in the microphone and what was more funny was his father making the similar sounds – yes bache to bache baap re baap 
It was fantastic to hear Chhaya narrate her experience about Mumbai and how proud she feels about the city. Bravo!!
The second mother to perform was Krupa Nayan Joshi who came in with her student Pooja Soni. Krupa wore a green color Maharashtrian saree and Pooja wore a yellow kurta and white dhoti. They both together danced on Marathi song “Aake daaje wa” and performed excellently. They had good smiles throughout and the energies that was required for the song. Their clapping rhythmically was fantastic. The closure was great. In after performance talk when the judges asked them why they choose Launi, Krupa answered that since she performed what she was best in earlier, this time she wanted to do something different and choose Launi. Her family had come in to support her. JJ (Javed Jaafferi) gave her good compliments and was happy with her performance.
The third mummy to perform was Neelu Rai who came in with her teacher Adarsh Singh. They started with a prop and Neelu was dressed in a black Arabian costume and her partner was also dressed similarly in Arabian. They both danced on song “Jhumbalika”. Her dance was elegant, fast paced, rhythmic and also entertaining. The closure was beautiful. Neelu has that perfect figure along with being an awesome dancer and so all her dances come out with extra grace and charm. If she continues the way she is dancing, she sure should be one of the finalist. Neelu since her day one has managed to get great compliments from the judges and this week too Javed and Ravi gave her deserving compliments and comments.
The next mummy to perform was Shuchi Sharma who came in with her neice Bhakti Chaudhary. They both together danced on song “Ali More Angna”. They both were dressed in black and gave the jogan look. They performed a very fast paced energetic dance and danced like two modern jogans but according to the judges they choose the wrong song for their choreography. They were corrected saying the performers did not narrate the right meaning in their choreography and needed to understand the meaning of the song otherwise it was a good attempt. Shuchi did bring the famous Dodaa for the judges and watch the judges expression while eating that
The last mom to dance in the partner round was Harpreet Kaur who got her teachers son Rohit Sonagra to perform. They both together performed a beautiful Kathak and this is a MUST WATCH!!! Harpreet was dressed up beautifully in green color Kathak costume and Rohit was in orange color dhoti. The synchronization between this dancing couple was awesome. It was one graceful performance which will make you feel proud of your culture and heritage. The closing and the rotations were simply fabulous. Definitely a Must WAtch! The after performance talk was funny especially to hear “husband ne arrange kiya” dialogue from Harpreet in answer to judges question “where did she meet her partner”. Harpreet also spoke words in praise of Boogie Woogie and yes, we too pray that Boogie Woogie lasts till the time there is sun and moon in this universe.
Judges informed they qualified 6 mummy’s for the next round and may select another mummy from this or the last week’s episode if the need arises. The lucky but very well deserving 6 mummy’s are:

Ravi and Naved this weekend started a new business venture dealing with restrooms and nature calls on roads. For men of course There were many hilarious spoofs dealing with the same subject and should surely make you laugh. Must watch! There were entertaining!
The first mother to start off partner round week 2 was Mamta Praveen who brought her friend as her partner Jui Patel. Both Mamta and Jui danced a classical on classical music piece which you heard on Boogie Woogie before and that goes something like “dhin dha dha re dha re dhin…” If anyone knows the title of this beautiful music piece, please do let us know or the movie or album it has been taken from. We would appreciate. But coming back to Mamta’s performance – in one word, it was beautiful. I totally enjoyed watching her and her partner performing gracefully but I felt the performance was short. They wore beautiful red, silver classical dress which went pretty well with the performance. Both the dancers carried the performance with good smiles and expressions. The after performance talk was touching especially to know how things were during Mamta’s time and how dance was looked upon with disrespect. Mamta was interested in dance and her mother was the only soul who supported her in midst of criticism. Judges spoke words of encouragement.
The second mother who performed was Mamta Srivastava who also got her friend Raja to perform in partner round. Both Mamta and Raja picked a comedy number by Govinda and Raveena to perform and they danced on song “mein cycle se jaa raha tha”. Mamta wore a red and black costume and Raja wore a red pant and yellow shirt. If you forget the technicalities, you will definitely find this performance highly entertaining and fun. If you are in totally bindaas mood then it might also make you whistle. But coming back to judges and their opinion in after performance talk, Javed did point out that there was more drama and less dance but on the whole it was good. The pairs which goes well with the judges according to Mamta were – Ravi with Urmila and she also sang the song “Jao tum chahe jaha” and did a wonderful job. Then she paired Naved with Rani Mukherjee and Javed with Katrina Kaif. What is must watch is Javed’s expression when he was paired with Katrina Kaif and then he utters, “mujhe pange nahi lena hai”. But Javed, Katrina does look good with you and I really hope to see you in a movie with Salman and Katrina!!
The next mother to perform was Geeta Soni who danced with her friends daughter Niharika who is 14 years old. Geeta wore a pink color lehanga and Niharika wore a yellow color. They both danced on evergreen hit song “kaanta laga”. The synchronization between both the dancers was fabuloous and it was fast and the steps chosen were great. They also had good expressions and the performance was totally entertaining. What is really must watch is Ravi as he was at his best bringing more humor to the show. Geeta’s sister came in to support her sister. There were hilarious moments regarding gulab jamun and the other sweets for the judges.
The next mummy to perform was Saili Desai who danced with Prashant Taware as her partner. This performance in two words is “MUST WATCH”. Both Saili and Prashant danced on yesteryears famous evergreen hit “are ja re natkhat” and did a fabulous job. The dance came with great expressions, it was beautiful, fast paced and with the right amount of dancing steps. Saili’s performance keeps you glued to your seats and your eyes glued on your television sets. It was the best performance of the evening. The dancing couple got good compliments from the judges and Javed came with the best comments regarding the performance. The after performance talk was funny as Mamta talks about the commute from Nalasupara to Mumbai and about load shedding and hear the judges responses to her comment. It was hilarious.
The next mother to dance was Agila Mathews who came with Milhaj Vohra as her partner. Agila wore a red and black ghagra and Milhaj wore a red color dhoti. They both danced on song “dhol baaje” song from movie hum dil de chuke sanam. I felt the energies were good and also some of the steps that they took were fast and in synch. Also the rotations that they performed were fabulous. It was a very good attempt. The couple looked disappointed after the performance. Again, I would say, if the couple didn’t talk about something going wrong with the performance, audience would NOT have known it. A lot of times, we are our own critic and the same was done by the couple. They critized their performance by talking that something went wrong. If they wouldn’t have done that, audience would not have known. Sometimes, its wise not to talk or point the mistakes on our own. But one thing I love about Agila is anytime she is asked how are you, she answers back saying “I am very fine”. The positivity from her reply rubs on to others. She informed that she never gets angry ever. Awesome! Regarding her performance, Javed felt the overall connectivity between the couple wasn’t there. But it was good performance.
The last performance of the evening was from Ripanpreet Sidhu who got her friend Guneet Kaur as her partner. Both Ripanpreet and Guneet were dressed up as Sardaar boys and wore blue color shorts and turbuns in red with gray shirt and tie. This performance can be called the cutest performance of the evening minus the hawa ka jhokas. But both Ripanpreet and Guneet did even the hawa ka jhoka part with utmost comfort bringing humor to their performance. They started to dance on medley of two songs which started with dil da mamla and taare gin gin. They were energetic and the steps they did were great. The after performance talk was hilarious especially when she spoke about “Ravi ache lagte the” and the way she asked for forgiveness from her husband and other judges. The narration about her son being asked to watch TV was hilarious. Ripanpreet again will win your heart as she talks about her aspirations and how she wants to pursue her studies. She also goes emotional speaking about her inability to speak English and what people think of non English speakers in her town. Judges did point out that the language does not matter and what she is and her personality, it overtakes the rest. They also complimented her with great words and said they always enjoy listening and talking to her.
With this Friday nights episode ended with a promise to bring the remaining mothers to perform on Saturday night which will be the last episode of Partners round!
It was very painful to learn that Sonia is going through the most tough time of her life. She lost her husband after clearing the elimination rounds and that too right on her own birthday.
Our judges gave out this sad news in last episode and also conducted a two minute silence in the studios. Sonia will not be a part of Mummy’s Championships anymore due to the phase she is going through.
Sonia had won our heart with her first performance itself especially when she narrated couple of jokes which were at par with Ravi and Naved’s jokes. Her sweet talk and her talent made a place in our hearts permenently and we were looking forward to seeing her back on Boogie Woogie stage. We cannot say we feel the pain what Sonia is going through right now but we definitely on behalf of us, our members and all our visitors extend our heartfelt condolences to Sonia and want to tell her, we are with her and her family at this time of sorrow.
We also received condolence messages from other mothers and they have offered any help possible to the family. Sonia – please know you are not alone as we are with you. May God rest your husband’s soul in peace and may he give enough strength to you to overcome this tough time. There is no doubt that this sorrow will last the lifetime but please take good care of yourself!! We will wait to see you back sometime!

It was saddening news when Javed informed in the Boogie Woogie episode last week that Raman Gujral, the pretty mother who won our hearts with her fantastic and graceful performance will not be participating anymore since her father is in critical condition.
On behalf of this blog and all our members and visitors, we wish Mr. Gujral a speedy recovery and may he gain his health back and enjoy the merry time with his family real soon!
