Friday night started with couple of jokes from Ravi and Naved and Javed introducing the first mummy in Dev Anand style.

The first mummy to perform on Boogie Woogie stage on Friday night was Raman Gujral who is 50 years old and came in from Ludhiana. This mummy from no angle looks 50! She wore beautiful red salwar kameez and danced on a Punjabi number. Raman though used simpler steps but Ravi 1performed them very gracefully and the expression on her face complimented her to the core. She sure should be loved by one and all as when I was watching the show with my family, all were in awe for her. One thing is for sure, Raman is peoples person! Raman’s after performance talk was interesting and funny. When the judges asked her what she got for them, she answered wittily saying she got her heart. Javed complimented on her dance style and said it was very graceful. They also asked her the secret behind her not looking 50 and she answered that is because she is always happy. I firmly believe that is the right answer and so we will talk more about it on another article. Raman’s husband is in army and they share a good rapport, chemistry and romance. I think this couple can be good preachers to many couples who crib and complain in their life and make their marriage life miserable. The highlight was her singing and that gets her the cake and the icing. Boogie Woogie India blog always appreciate and loves lively people and so we sure hope to see Raman for a long time in the show. Amen! Raman also came with three words for the judges and she said – Javed is “Effervescent”, Ravi is “Jubilant”, and Naved is “Florescent”.  Well Said!!

The second mummy to perform was Hetal Mehta who is 35 years old and came in from Mumbai. She was naved1dressed in beautiful ghagra and danced on song “Man Mohini teri ada” from movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. She danced beautifully and complimented her dance with good expressions. Her energies were good too. Hetal’s after performance talk was interesting especially to learn that she fell in love with her husband since her 9th grade. Her mother and daughter both had come to support her. The highlight of her performance was Hetal dancing with her mother on Boogie Woogie stage and they both did a “Matukdi” dance and it sure was a treat to watch the mother daughter pair.

The next mummy to perform on Boogie Woogie stage was Jamna Dathia who is 32 years old and came in from Kalyan, Mumbai area. Jamna danced on Ringa Ringa song from Slumdog Millionaire. She wore a very pretty lehanga which was made with soft net and beaded work. Jamna threw in a javedenergetic and entertaining performance. Her foot rotation with her matkas were fabulous, her expression especially when then word “khatmal” comes in, is must watch. She did get good compliments from Javed on her style and expressions. The after performance talk was hilarious when especially both the couple talked about Ravi’s song “Humse tum dosti karlo” and said they both use to sing that song a lot and when the judges asked them to sing, they one after another sang different song and completely forgotten about the song they talked about. What I could assume was since the husband sang a song “jab koi baat bigad jaaye” for his wife and so the wife wanted to respond to his feelings and sang “tu iss tarah se meri zindagi mein shamil hai”. The love between the couple was clearly seen and they were lost for few seconds in one another and had forgotten about Ravi’s song. Again I would say it was awesome to see the love between the couple and they sure must be thrilled to express their love for one another on Boogie Woogie’s prestigious stage!

The next mummy who came in to perform is no stranger to any of us - Boogie Woogie fans. When Boogie Woogie announced mother’s championships, there were two ravi javed navednames that were sure on my mind who would participate – one was Natasha Bhatt and the other was her mother in law, Nupur’s grandmother “Mrs. Bhatt” who had danced with her granddaughter and won all our hearts. But this time we saw the grandmother sitting in audience. Hope we get to see her soon dancing. When Natasha had paired with her daughter Nupur in partner round, we got to see Natasha’s talent and so didn’t expect anything less then a energetic and well performed number. She turns out up to our expectations. Natasha danced on song “Mein Talli Ho gayi” and her closure was cute where she drinks few pegs of apple juice.  Though her after performance talk was short. I sure was hoping and looking forward to hear Mr. Bhatt sing but it didn’t happen. Naved’s joke did compensate for Mr. Bhatt’s singing. It was very funny!

The fifth mother to perform was Manisha Jain who was also from Mumbai. Manisha was beautifully dressed in red color saree in Bengali style and danced on song “Dola Re”. Some people might hate me but I really don’t mind and have to say “Manisha was way better then Aishwarya Rai”!! She danced very well and I loved all of her steps. RNJThis mother has a fabulous smile to compliment her dance and also to bring a smile on your face.  Her matkas and jhatas were fabulous and I enjoyed this performance so much more better then the original fake expression performance. If there was no Madhuri, the song wouldn’t have attracted me at all ;) Anyway, back to Manisha, her after performance was also interesting and funny. It was interesting to know that she was married at the young age of 18 years old. She has two kids, a girl and a boy. She gave the entire credit to her husband and kids for her being on Boogie Woogie stage.

The last mother to perform on Friday night was Deepa Singh who is 33 year old and came in from Gwalior. She performed beautiful Kathak and her performance is MUST watch!! I ravi naved javeddefinitely think Deepa’s performance was the best performance of the evening from audience point of view. She wore a beautiful maroon color ghagra and danced on song “Mein tohse bolu na”. She threw in a very graceful,  beautiful, energetic performance. Her expressions were simply superb. Her hand movements were perfect. Deepa resembles in Geeta Bali and if you watch her, it might remind you of the natkhat roles that yesteryears golden actress Geeta Bali performed. Her after performance talk was sweet, funny and beautiful. Deepa works for railways and she apart from working in office, teaches dance to railway students. Her comparison of sports employees for railway versus cultural railway employees was hilarious. Deepa possess all the qualities to win your heart. Her narration of love marriage and fear was beautiful. Her daughter drew a painting of the judges and it was sweet.

Mummy ChampionshipsWith the bewdi and rewdi ryhming, Boogie Woogie show got winded up with the promise to bring 6 more mummy’s on Saturday night. Have a wonderful day folks – see you tonight!!

*Suvendu Roy of Titan Industries shares his inspirational encounter with
a rickshaw driver in Mumbai*

Heroism_Logo Last Sunday, my wife, kid and I had to travel to Andheri from Bandra. When I waved at a passing auto rickshaw, little did I expect that this ride would be any different.

As we set off, my eyes fell on a few magazines (kept in an aircraft style
pouch) behind the driver’s back rest. I looked in front and there was a
small TV. The driver had put on the Doordarshan channel. My wife and I
looked at each other with disbelief and amusement. In front of me was a
small first-aid box with cotton, dettol and some medicines. This was enough for me to realise that I was in a special vehicle. Then I looked around again, and discovered more -there was a radio, fire extinguisher, wall clock, calendar, and pictures and symbols of all faiths - from Islam and Christianity to Buddhism, Hinduism and Sikhism. There were also pictures of the heroes of 26/11- Kamte, Salaskar, Karkare and Unnikrishnan. I realised that not only my vehicle, but also my driver was special.

goodness I started chatting with him and the initial sense of ridicule and disbelief
gradually diminished. I gathered that he had been driving an auto ickshaw
for the past 8-9 years; he had lost his job when his employer’s plastic company was shut down. He had two school-going children, and he drove from 8 in the morning till 10 at night. No break unless he was unwell. "Sahab, ghar mein baith ke TV dekh kar kya faida? Do paisa income karega toh future mein kaam aayega." (Sir, what’s the use of simply sitting at home and watching TV? If I earn some income, then it will be useful in the future.)

blessings We realised that we had come across a man who represents Mumbai - the spirit of work, the spirit of travel and the spirit of excelling in life. I asked him whether he does anything else as I figured that he did not have too much spare time. He said that he goes to an old age home for women in Andheri once a week or whenever he has some extra income, where he donates tooth brushes, toothpastes, soap, hair oil, and other items of daily use. He pointed out to a painted message below the meter that read: "25 per cent discount on metered fare for the handicapped. Free rides for blind passengers up to Rs50″. He also said that his auto was mentioned on Radio Mirchi twice by the station RJs. The Marathi press in Mumbai know about him and have written a few pieces on him and his vehicle.

CupOfGoodness My wife and I were struck with awe. The man was a HERO! A hero who deserves all our respect. I know that my son, once he grows up, will realise that we have met a genuine hero. He has put questions to me such as why should we help other people? I will try to keep this incident alive in his memory.

Our journey came to an end; 45 minutes of a lesson in humility, selflessness and of a hero-worshipping Mumbai - my temporary home. We disembarked, and all I could do was to pay him a tip that would hardly cover a free ride for a blind man.

ATT00006 We are sorry that for some time we have not been able to reply to your comment but as they say its better late then never and so we reply to all your queries and comments. Hopefully, we will not slack anymore and should be able to serve you better.

Again we repeat – we are NOT Boogie Woogie official site but only a fan site running in appreciation of the judges and Boogie Woogie but we are also very clear that we are here to serve you and bring you any information related with the show or the judges that is out there through any media. Our purpose is to have all information under the same roof for the convenience of fans like us and yourselves. Below we tried to answer to the best of our knowledge but we recommend you to contact Sony or Boogie Woogie for any official confirmation.

Priya - Hi This is Priya , I’m software engg by profession. I am very much inspired by the Boogie Woogie show and am very interested in participating boogie woogie competition .Can you please tell me when will the next round of auditions will take place.
Thanks

Hi Priya, We don’t know about the next auditions yet but we have our eyes open. As soon as we come to know of any news or rumors, we will be more then glad to let you know and also publish it. We also recommend you highly to make your VCD of your dance performance of no more then two minutes which should start with fast steps or your best steps from the first second to 1 minute of your performance and send it to R & N TV Productions instead of waiting for the auditions. Anyway, in auditions, they only tape you and send you back home and last auditions, it so happened that the camera guy switched off the camera before one of the aspirant could start her best moves. So please concentrate on your VCD and send it to the office. Best of Luck!

DD - in this episode there was a performance on PARDESI GIRL.. which is from DOSTANA film…..and that movie music is promoted by YASH RAJ MUSIC.. I know his for sure as I had checked the same song and wanted to perform on this for audition but had cancelled for the reason mentioned… How was this allowed ?

Hi DD, Couple of things are possible…1) I am assuming that even though the movie Dostana belongs to Yash Raj Music but the producing company is Karan Johar’s company so maybe they have the rights and it was okay to dance on Karan Johar’s movie songs. 2) There is a very good chance that the Boogie Woogie team slacked or were sleeping ;)

Meghna Chaudhary - Hello, I just went through your this side & i even want to participate in your 2009 session i will be for your adult batch but i should mention that i have a less time this yr. only so kindly be in touch asap & i will not let you down & will not break ur trust.
Waiting for your reply.

Hi Meghna – dear please make your dance performance VCD and mail it to R & N TV Productions as your audition. That is the best way and if they like your dance, they will contact you. All the best ;)

Harpreet Singh - Please add videos of the performance of contestents on your website. so the we can watch them again and again.
Thanx

Harpreet ji, I would LOVE to add the videos but Sony is retarded company, they don’t allow this blog to put videos but there are other websites who don’t care a damn and put Boogie Woogie videos regularly and religiously. Sony’s marketing strategy and customer service is the lousiest in the world!!

Girish - hi admi,,, m girish from banglore wanted to participate in boogie woogie,, m a strret dancer,, i dance in clubs to collect money for my college fees,,, please let me know when is the next audition in bombay,,,
thank you

Hi Girish – I am sorry I had read your message earlier and don’t know how I missed answering you. Dear please make a VCD of your best performance and send it to Boogie Woogie at the R & N TV Productions to Firdaus and make sure you start with your best steps right from the first second. This VCD will be your audition tape. Once Firdaus views it and if she likes and matches her requirement, she will contact you directly. Make sure to include your application form and you can find it above under the application page. If you have any other questions, please feel free to write. All the very best and I really do hope all your hard work gets paid and we see you on Boogie Woogie stage soon!

Nitin Goyal - Hi, I am Nitin Goyal from Bhopal, Dear please upload the video clip of Mrs. Ripanpreet Sidhu’s performance or the whole episode of 5th june”09, bcos i saw her performance which was excellent, and her reply’s also very good, she is very nice mummy…. waiting for ur reply…..
Thanks….

Hi Nitin, I too loved Ripanpreet’s performance and she sure has long way to go. We wish her all the very best in the championships. I would love to upload her videos but Sony doesn’t allow us to do so as they are retarded. But you can watch Boogie Woogie videos at www.apnicommunity.com/boogie-woogie They have been uploading for a very long time and do a pretty good job ;) Thanks for visiting us and do feel free to comment.

Mummy - Hi Friends, its good to know and read about my performance on this site. But yes there are politics everywhere and it is difficult to remain spotless especially on realty shows where the TRP matters a lot. Its only that no one ever shouts loudly about it. You are talking about all this, even a little jive with the partner in the partner round didn’t go well with the show. Moreover i always thought they are looking for versatility and somebody who can try new things or is willing to do new things but i was mistaken. A big learning for me. But people are very sweet and wish that the show does maintain its popularity like this always.

Thank You so much Mummy for your input. We really appreciate your input and your comment. This is a fan site and our own site. We are free to discuss anything and so with the same thought I would say, its nice that the people are sweet but then sweetness does need a little change too sometimes. Versatility and quality has been Boogie Woogie’s strength but off late it looks like they are getting little predictable. More of my explanation in a separate article.

Swati - when is ravi n naved getting married

Hi Swati, the rumors has it that Ravi and Naved will be getting married on December 31st 2009 at midnight. Time and Date is fixed, they only are in search of a girl. If you know someone, please send your recommendation to R & N TV Productions address in Mumbai. We wish them all the very best!! :D

Hi Shriya, I think you can participate in the Teens Championships. We don’t know when they conduct the auditions but auditions for Boogie Woogie are always open through VCD. Please make a Video CD of your best performance which should not be more then 2 minutes but also make sure your first minute has your best moves and along with the application, please send it to Firdaus at R & N TV Productions. If you click on Auditions page or category, your will find many tips that will help you approach Boogie Woogie better. All the very best dear!! Please feel free to write for any questions that you may have. We are here to help you.

JT - Can some please tell the exact date in June when the Chalo America 2009 Finals will be aired in the US?

Hi JT – The last we had heard was they were going to telecast it in June. We haven’t received any information after that. But do watch on Sundays and that is when Sony might telecast in one of the afternoons. The best would be to contact the Haventertainment who ran the Boogie Woogie finals in collaboration with Sony. They might have a true date. But if we come of know, we will be more then happy to publish it.

They are always looking out for quality talent and any location shouldn’t matter to them. All the very best dear!! :)

Abhiyanka - sir, i wanted to participate in the show pls tell me when shall i participate as i am a 16 year old girl…..is there any specific section like the mummy’s championships?

Hi Abhiyanka – sweetie you should be able to participate in Girls Championships, Teen Championships, Solo Championships, Horror Championships, Mahayudh, Item Numbers and many others. Hi Garima – They say whatever happens, happens for the best. So if your day is not today then it will surely be tomorrow. Hang in there and don’t give up! If you got talent then Boogie Woogie cannot afford to stay away from you dear. As much as you need their platform, Boogie Woogie too needs new and quality talent. All the very best dear!

Mummy Championships Saturday night started Boogie Woogie with one perfect and superb performance by a mummy Neelu Rai who is 35 years old and came in from Darjeeling. She danced on song “Barso re Megha” from movie Guru. Neelu was dressed up in white and silver with a beautiful dupatta. She danced very elegantly, graceful and also gave awesome expressions.  The after performance talk brought news that the last she had danced was in 1994 which brings us to the conclusion that if the talent is inborn then touch or out of touch doesn’t matter, it comes right back at you and that is what Neelu proved. Neelu also took excellent care of herself and does not look like a mother of 11 and 7 year old kids. The story of how she got married was interesting.

jaaved jaafferi1 The second mummy to perform was 40 year old who came in from Kolkatta – Indrani Chatterjee. This beautiful mummy wore a red and black costume and presented a theme based performance. Well Done!! It was a mix of fusion and classical and was a great attempt. Her expressions were powerful. Indrani did learn Bharatnatyam for few years. The after performance talk made judges give a compliment to Indrani saying she resembles in Sonia Sahani, a yesteryear actress.

ravi dance The next to perform was Rubina Khan who is 35 year old and hails form Mumbai. It was interesting to know that she was referred initially by Yogita Bali to Boogie Woogie. Rubina danced on song “Pankh hote to udd jati” and gave an awesome performance. Actually her expressions is what you must not miss as they take the cake away. The way she shook her shoulders is another that you shouldn’t miss. Don’t miss out on her peacock step. It was neatly done. Rubina had accompanied a mummy in partner round in last mummys championships. Her after performance talk especially the clipping of her mimicry and the replay of the same live on Boogie Woogie stage was worth standing applause. I definitely think she should be part of Comedy Circus – she sure has TALENT!!

naved dance The fourth mummy to perform was Ritu Gupta who is 34 years old and came in from Surat. She danced on song “Shut up and dance” from movie dostana. This mummy wore a blue and black costume with black slacks and she from no angle looked like a mummy. She can easily participate as a teen in teen championships. Ritu performed a disco and threw in a fast paced energetic performance. In her after performance talk she informed the judges that she did not learn dance and it was her own talent that she presented.Very modest isnt? :) Another interesting fact was that she knew her husband for 22 years now and that he had written a love letter to her using his own blood. Olden times really use to be so awesome – when letters were written in blood, lovers use to kiss and preserve them forever and now in present times if a letter is written in blood, one may open it up to read only after wearing gloves and face mast. LOL. Okay back to Ritu, she did speak very well in her after performance talk and also danced with her couple of students on Boogie Woogie stage – the little one was amazing as the judges pointed out!

ravi javed naved The next mother to perform was a 34 years old Archana Pawar who is from Mumbai and she danced on song “Jhoomka gira re”. Archana wore a red and blue ghagra and danced well. She used some good steps and kept the song energy in tune with her steps and expressions. On the whole it was entertaining and cute performance. Her family did come to her support and it was interesting to listen to her parents speak. Her daughter had given her Rs. 200/- as a good luck charm and also to let her know that she is a good dancer. Sweet isnt? yes we sure think so!

The last mother to perform on Boogie Woogie stage was Agila Mathews who is 42 years old and came in from Vadodara. Now this is a must watch performance! Agila was dressed up in cream and golden color costume and ravi dance 1threw in a very graceful performance. Her expressions were amazing and she sure has lots of charm that can attract your attention. This Sauli saloni beauty danced on song “Man Mohini” from movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and again I will say without thinking twice that she was better then Aishwarya!! There was so much life in Agila and her face kept me glued to my chair. Her smile, her graceful steps, her expressions and her hand movements were simply awesome. Though she missed her last step but very elegantly she picked on it and continued with her sweet smile. Agila is a learned dancer and has done a post graduation in Bharatnatyam. She is a teacher and teaches the tiny tots in LKG. At this point, Naved asked a question if there are any male teachers in LKG and when the answer was no, he said maybe its because men don’t have that much of patience that’s why a LKG teacher has to be a female. But Naved, this only happens in India, you will find plenty to dozen male LKG teachers in America. Maybe India pampers it’s males too much and they loose their patience as a reward to the love they receive otherwise I think males can very well be as good LKG teacher as any female ;)

Alright now it was time for the results. Results brought names of 5 qualified mothers for the next round and they were…..

1) Neelu Rai
2) Archana Pawar
3) Darshana Kohli
4) Ritu Gupta
5) Agila Mathews

Boogie Woogie – the above choice is excellent but WE WANT JASREEN BANWAIT AND AMRITA BILLORE!!! Get them back please!

Mummy Championships Friday night “episode 5” again got some cool jokes by Ravi and Naved but Javed came with a master PJ joke!

The first mummy to start the episode was Neelam Kodukula who is 40 years old and came from Bangalore. She danced on song “Sawan mein lag gayi”. She wore a red pant suit with blue color shirt and tie. She did free style dancing and used stage well. This cute mummy had a boy cut hairstyle and threw in an entertaining performance. The after performance flying kick was funny. Neelam believes that she is no less then any man and is capable of doing any work. Way to go Mummy! Her after performance talk was hilarious especially her dialogue “Mein tera khoon pee jaayunga kutte” but then what was really heart warming was she offering help to see a Pakistani family gets the dead body of their ill brother back home. She helped in getting all the formalities done in time and made sure the family gets helped at the most sorrow time of their life. Who says there are no angels on earth? This blog is very proud of Neelam! She also sang song “Raat akeli hai” in Marathi.

The second mummy to perform in the elimination initial round was Darshana Kohli who is 35 years old and came in from beautiful Jabalpur. She wore red costume and performed Kathak. Darshana was beautiful in her dance and gave a graceful performance especially her closure – the end part of her performance was awesome. The after performance talk was again funny as Darshana turned out to be quick and witty in all her replies. She got a nick name as Basanti due to her talk in her town. Darshana struggled a lot with her family especially where she lost her father long time ago due to cancer. She use to love dancing but gave it up after she got engaged in 1996. She has two kids and a supporting husband and in laws.

Ravi and Naved The mother to perform next was Rajani Khanna who is 38 years old and came in from Sitapur. This mother wore a blue costume with white shiny pants and danced on song “Chalo Ishq ladaaye”. Rajani danced fabulously and won my heart. She could easily be a perfect partner for Govinda and replaced Raveena well in this song. The only thing which Rajani shouldn’t have done was lip synching when the male part was being played but on the whole she was fabulous. The after performance talk was hilarious, sweet and adorable. It was funny to listen to her explaining where Sitapur is located but then I guess anyone would answer in similar fashion especially when judges were at their peak jokingly trying to confuse a person. She has a very sweet voice and speaks very softly and lovingly. The best part was when she asked Naved to dance with her and Naved agreed to dance along with her and her husband. They were totally adorable! I think all mummys should make judges get up from their seats and dance a little with them. So if mummy’s are reading this, make sure you do this favor for us audience. I loved it!! The other cutest part of Rajani’s performance was when both Rajani and her husband said “I love you” to one another and the sweetest part was when Rajani gave Naved her aashirwad that may he gets married to a girl who would love him very much. Amen to that!!

The fourth mummy to perform on Boogie Woogie stage was Jaya Sharma who was from Mumbai and is 34 year old. She wore gorgeous costume and also wore a beautiful smile through out. Jaya like many mummys on this Friday night did use many simpler steps but what stood out in Jaya’s performance was her smile and ability to keep your interest onto her intact. After after performance talk was funny especially when Naved corrected her when she said she lived in Kanpur and later she was born in Meerut. Jaya was shy but possess a very sweet personality. The story narration on how she reacted to hear from Boogie Woogie results was HILARIOUS!! She also made sugar free sweets for the judges that were made from dates and Angir (Persian Fig) and eatable gum.

Jaaved Jaafferi The next mummy to dance on Boogie Woogie show was Jasreen Banwait who is only 30 years old. Now her dance is something that is for sure a MUST WATCH!! She performed a Mediterranean dance and the way she shook her entire body was amazing. At least I haven’t seen a dance like this before. She definitely takes the cake from the rest of the mummy’s as she threw in not only a entertaining number but performed it with utmost perfection. I loved her expressions – they were beautiful. Don’t miss her dance – she surely will win your heart! After performance talk was again funny but what was amazing was the way she explained her dance. That was superb. She is happily married and has one daughter. Her husband is a doctor and the perspective of this couple regarding life and their contentment is worth applause. I really wish all doctors would think on similar grounds!

The last mother to perform was a 33 year old Amrita Billore who came in from Bhopal and she danced on yesteryears evergreen hit “Raat ka Sama”. She too wore a beautiful costume consisting of Blue and Maroon colors. Watch her matkaas, they were cute. Amrita gave a very graceful performance and her expressions, smile were beautiful. Her steps were well coordinated with the music. The after performance is must must watch! It was hilarious. I LOVED Amrita’s sense of humor and she WON my heart!! I really do hope she gets selected. Amrita also made fun of her own obesity and spoke about her husbands favorite actress “Aishwarya Rai” and how she wishes to be like her. Judges were funny and supported her humor to the best but Amrita this blog has something to say to you! Dear you don’t need to be Aishwarya the PVC pipe. You are amazing and is a million times better then Aishwarya anytime of day or night. This blog really wishes that you stay the same way as you rock solid. Aishwarya should take you as an inspiration and learn life from you. That is something she needs to work on badly. Lifeless beauties are good only for a short time but what you possess is a beauty that is craved by many to zillions. Please don’t loose your charm and always stay cheerful, funny, talented and full of life. God bless you dear!! We sure wish to see you till finals. Amen!

clapping hangs It’s been two weeks that Mummy’s Championships have started. We already got to witness almost two dozen mummy’s performing and fighting for the next round. Even though Boogie Woogie believes in peaceful telecast and they stay out of mess, we thought it is now time to start some discussions and hot arguments. Spice is the necessity of life and so let’s have fun friends without even thinking twice and that too on Boogie Woogie’s expense!

Mother’s Championships is one of the biggest event of Boogie Woogie. Let’s compare Boogie Woogie with other masala reality shows and see which spice from other shows can be taken to add some flavor.

What do you think – Should there be plenty of fights between the judges or should there be hot discussions and Gaalis between the mummy’s?

How about letting mummy’s wear skimpy and revealing costumes?

What about dividing mummy’s into two gharanas – a Ravi gharana and a Naved gharana and let Ravi and Naved fight and promote their own mummy’s by going totally berserk and out of the way in seeing their mummy wins??

crazy How about inviting more of half naked brainless celebrities that talk something totally unrelated and stupid – after all celebrities are Sony’s favorite – they add to TRP right?

Another superb idea is to show promotions for every two minutes of pre decided winner mummy but pretend the winner is to be decided only in the end and show the nice promotions about her and show the ugliest things about rest of the mummy’s including ugly behind the scenes just the way they did in Jhalak Dikhla Ja ;)

It’s been 13 years that Boogie Woogie has been talking nice and following a pattern that is family oriented so how about they go off board and get their mummy’s dance to songs that are forbidden? Or how about not care a damn and use those music companies that are a big no no – after all anything negative gets to be more advantageous in terms of popularity? (maybe it will open political doors for Boogie Woogie)

Won’t it be cool to link up and make pairs and promote silly love stories?? – oh wait we can’t do that… it’s mothers championships… well next time we can promote this idea ;)

But on serious note, what do you think – which spice needs to be added that can be extra charm to Boogie Woogie? Please feel free to discuss. :D

mother1 After six mothers performing on Friday night, six more had lined up to show their talent on Boogie Woogie stage on Saturday night to fight the eliminations and move forward.

The first mummy to start the Saturday episode was Nivedita Majumdar who came in from Nagpur and who is 37 year old. This pretty mummy danced on song “Pyar huya chupke se” from movie 1947 Love Story. Nivedita not only danced beautifully but also her after performance talk was equally touching. She sure set a beautiful example for all the single parents who are taking care of their families single handedly and also trying to achieve their dreams. There are many that think its the end of the world when things go wrong, but then there are some like Nivedita who gather their courage and start a new beginning. We are proud of you Nivedita – Keep it up!!

The next mummy to perform on the prestigious stage was Dr. Maya Modi who is 56 years old and came in from Vadodara. She danced on song “Jab chhaye mera jaadu”. She threw in an energetic number and showed to the world that a mother can be an awesome mother, a gynocologist and also a fabulous dancer. She also added some fabulous steps which were mind blowing especially I loved her closing. She also runs a fitness studio with 40 students. A lot of times, people generally assume that if one is successful in her career then family takes a toll but if you watch Maya, you will see that she has taken very good care of herself and her family. Her upbringing has turned her son into a successful doctor. Another interesting fact that we came to know was that yesteryear evergreen hero “RajKumar” had offered her a role in a movie but she did not take it as she was pursuing her MBBS. Good Job Maya!! You sure are a super mom! Must Watch Performance!!

The next to perform was a young mother of 30 years – Jaspal Kaur who came in from Delhi. She danced on a popular song “Billo Rani”. A mother can never go wrong and so Jaspal danced beautifully on the popular number. I definitely think Jaspal left Bipasha Basu way behind in her dance. Watch her, she got herself engrossed and threw in a very entertaining number. Some time back when I was talking to an experienced dancer, she had told me, a dance is complete when you give your 100 percent to it and for that one must leave their shyness and understand the meaning and what you need to depict. If you watch Jaspal, you will see what it means to dance like nobody is watching. This young mother has a 11 year old son and a 8 year old daughter. She is working very hard and has a shared custody of her children. When I hear stories of single parents, the only thing that makes me do is to blame the parents for getting their kids married at a very young age. I have no idea why parents hurry to see their daughters married in their teens? Anyway lets not go there as its a never ending story but parent blunders can cost kids a life time of misery!!! She got compliments from Jaaved. Jaspal also sang a song and she is an awesome singer. She can pursue a singing career as well. We wish her all the very best for her future! What a soothing beautiful voice she got!!

The next mummy to perform was 33 year old Dr. V. Lavanya. Lavanya came in from Ahmednagar and danced on song Piya bole from movie Parineeta. Watch this south Indian beauty dressed perfect in Bengali attire and narrating the song so beautifully. I personally like this song and feel that its pretty soothing and Lavanya’s dance took this performance to totally another level. It was absolutely beautiful. I also loved her expressions. Maybe she is the first mother to give such a graceful performance. Lavanya is married to a Lt. Colonel and he is from Kerala settled in Andhra Pradesh. She also learned Kuchipudi dance. She was successful from getting fabulous comments from Jaaved. Definitely a must watch performance by a super mom! Bravo!!

After Lavanya, it was Chhaya Shah’s turn to perform. Chhaya Shah is a 32 year old mother and is from Mumbai. She danced on song “Mere haatho mein nau nau chudiya” from movie Chandni. Chhaya Shah does give Sri Devi’s expressions and has been dancing like Sridevi since her childhood. Watch her dance, she reminds you of Sri Devi all the while. She is an ex Boogie Woogian and had participated in year 2001. She did perform on the same song but was not a winner then. She has a beautiful family with two sons that makes her feel proud. On the whole she threw in a very entertaining performance.

The last mother to perform on Saturday night before the results was Anjana Soni who is 32 years old and came in from Haryana. She danced on song “Mayya Mayya” from movie Guru. Watch her adding some stunts to her performance and also dancing energetically. She threw in a very entertaining performance. Anjana is also a student and is pursuing a diploma in Education. She danced with students and also does exercise regularly. Her after performance talk made her do push ups with her husband on the Boogie Woogie stage – a total number of 20. Now that I think is an excellent number for a mother! Isnt it awesome that one after another, Boogie Woogie presented fabulous mothers? All were super moms and were a treat to our eyes. Our salute to Boogie Woogie and the moms. Keep it up!!

After a flash back, the results were announced and the lucky 6 mothers to qualify for the next round were:

1) Geeta Soni
2) Dr. Lavanya
3) Chhaya Shah
4) Jaspal Kaur
5) Suchi Sharma
6) Ripanpreet Sidhu

Judges – You ROCK and we LOVE U!!!

moms Second week of Mummy’s Championships dared Ravi and Naved to come up with jokes on Mothers and I must say the jokes they came up this time were best PJ’s. The joke on fire department and the one on info and lottery were the best. Jaaved added his own superb charm as usual. :)

The first mummy to start the Friday night’s Boogie Woogie’s episode number 3 was Shabab Banu who is 39 years old and who came in from Delhi. My heart goes out for the ones that stand out in the crowd differently and so Shabab won my heart when she came in dressed up as a Sardaar and danced fabulously on song “Tenu Dulha” from movie Sing is King. It was one entertaining and superbly put up performance. Her expressions, style and costume were awesome. The after performance talk was interesting. The accident that she spoke of before marriage was heart warming. The love between the couple showed lots of respect for one another. It was very touching and the couple set a perfect example for many couples to follow.

The next mother to perform was Shuchi Sharma who is 34 year old and who came in from Gurgaon. She danced on song Ringa Ringa from movie Slumdog Millionaire. She wore a pretty ghagra and her matkaas and jhatkaas were simply mind blowing. Her expressions and the way she moved on music stood out. With the expressions on judges faces one could easily assume that they enjoyed her performance pretty well. The after performance talk tickles your funny bone and makes you chuckle especially the way the song was translated and judges asking for mithai. She was complimented by Ravi on her dance style.

At this time they showed the clippings from Calcutta auditions. It was interesting to note that the mummy’s who went in for the auditions actually stood in the line from morning 10 till 5 and were still awaiting their number. Now that is sure a massive response and why it shouldn’t be – after all it is Boogie Woogie!

The third mummy to perform was Chetna Sagar who is from Mumbai and is 38 years old. She danced on song “hoga tamasha bepaasha” something like that. I hadn’t heard of this song before and there is a very good chance of me messing up the title. But if you know, then do correct me. But the song was taken from movie Vishwanath. If they hadn’t said, I wouldn’t have known so its good when participants come in well prepared. Chetna was dressed in black and danced western mixing it with her own style. Mummy’s are really adorable and so it is fascinating to see the way they choreographed their numbers in their own style. The best thing that I liked in her performance was her ability to shake her body. Her after performance got us the news that Reena Roy is hers and her husbands favorite actress. I am pretty sure, Reena would be more then delighted to know that. I do hope the couple get to meet their favorite. Chetna showed the picture of her father and paid him respect on Boogie Woogie stage. Jaaved spoke words of wisdom and was amazing in his speech!

The next mummy to perform was Rupanpreet who came in from Mohali and is 31 years old. She danced on a Punjabi song and it was a very catchy number – makes you tap your feet. She threw in an energetic, neat and entertaining performance. Before we go to the highlight of her after performance talk, let me say something. There are people who talk a lot and there are people who talk a lot but you enjoy listening to them and Rupanpreet was one of them. She speaks miles to dozen but has the ability to keep your attention to her. She is very sweet, honest and speaks from heart and that makes you want to listen to her more and more. She did won judges heart. She also along with her husband presented the judges her family owned 100 years old cover/sheet made with cloth and woven nicely. It was owned by her great grandparents which has been passing on as a family tradition to the next generation and that was given as a gift to the judges. I think this requires lot of courage. I sure know I wouldn’t do that. But then again this is India and anything is possible here. People in India think with their hearts and not mind and that is why this country till the time it thinks with its heart will stand out like a bright shining star. The moment we loose this touch, we will be just like any others! She also narrated how she cried when she came to know her audition results. She also had won the crown “Daughter of Punjab”. She wants to adopt an orphan and that is her dream goal. She did impress the judges as they gave her standing ovation for her thoughts. Something that is must watch is Naved! There are people who get inspired by many things but this fabulous guy I have observed every time someone comes in with pure heart and pure actions or behaviorism, he gets so happy that the expression on his face gets just amazing. He looked so proud and so happy – just like an angel on seeing the goodness around!! Rupanpreet also bowed down in respect for the judges.

The fifth mother that performed on Friday night was Geeta Soni who is again from Mumbai. She is 36 year old and she danced beautifully on Kailash Kher’s song “Saiyaan”. I was watching Boogie Woogie with my mother and my mother enjoyed this number a lot and so that rubbed on to me.  Geeta was dressed in white and threw in a delicate and graceful dance. I found her expressions were beautiful and felt that she mixed two types of dancing styles in her performance. The after performance talk was emotional. The way judges spoke was fabulous – they were appreciative, encouraging and also inspiring. Listen to Naved speaking about the show – he was awesome!!

The last participant mother to dance on Friday night was Kiran Chhabria who is 35 years old and is also from Mumbai. She danced on song “Mein Talli Ho Gayi”. She was dressed in a checks shirt with jeans and cowboy boots. I personally felt her performance to be very entertaining and energetic. She also reminded me of Neetu Singh! The after performance talk was hilarious and it was great to know that she hails from Hyderabad but married in Mumbai. I wish she represented Hyderabad instead of Mumbai ;) Friday night saw Naved at his peak and he steals the show with the fantastic joke on plastic surgery – must watch!!
