HAWWWWWWWW … isn’t that how the judges say? Well its time for us to say… but before that read the scoop below!

Finally we get to see spicy fights on our good old, no mess, pure, unbiased talent search house, our own Boogie Woogie – yeah the same Boogie Woogie that we have been watching from past 13 years, you know the same Boogie Woogie that our grand parents grew up watching and have fond memories with… yes the same Boogie Woogie! Can you imagine? AWWWWWWWWW

Hot arguments, and some extra hot slaps brewed up on the Boogie Woogie sets on June 27th. The person to loose his control was none other then our good old favorite judge – Jaaved Jaafferi and the persons to make him loose control is none other then our favorite good old duo Ravi and Naved. Did you miss out on Saturday nights episode and the scoop?? Not to worry, we bring you the news fresh, after all we are here to serve you.

Well, after coming in late to the studios on Friday night, both Naved and Ravi went on to the wrong side of Javed on Saturday. They both reported late to the studios and Javed couldn’t take it any longer then the past 11 years time period – (Javed reported the first two years, Ravi and Naved were on time). And so he lost his cool which resulted in him bashing them up and also slapping. Want to hear the exact words and the sounds…. we bring you the audio below:

Although we wished for some spiced up news on our favorite Boogie Woogie show, but we sure were RELEIVED that it was only a joke that was played very well by our dear judges and nothing serious. We wish all three judges – Javed, Naved and Ravi to be always together happily and merrily. May there never be any misunderstandings or fights ever among them. We are so GLAD that it was only a JOKE. And we shall never wish for any such darn thing even in a joke. We LOVE YOU guys!!)

Friday and Saturday night Boogie Woogie episodes came with repeated telecast of clippings where Ravi and Naved spoke about Boogie Woogie auditions and information’s.

It is told that in name of Boogie Woogie, auditions were being run all over the country and money was also charged for the auditions. These auditions are FAKE and please DO NOT believe in them. The only real audition information is said to be true only when it scrolls on your TV screens while Boogie Woogie is telecasted. Rest, any information from any source is not to be believed.

Ravi and Naved also spoke about the audition fee that is charged by the fraud agencies and cleared that Boogie Woogie never charges a single paisa for any auditions and have advised the viewers and aspirants to be aware and not give any money for Boogie Woogie auditions to whoever it may be. Friday night Mummy’s Championships started with a very fresh, cute and funny spoof by Ravi and Naved. It was regarding the police chalaan and I must say it was adorable. Very well put!

The first mummy to perform in partner round was Avatar Kaur Randhawa who came in with her partner son Hardeep Singh. The highlight of Avatar’s performance was she looked like a perfect sardar. If no one had told it was her who was performing with her son, everyone would very well had assumed the performance was being done by two sardars. They both looked almost the same height and personalities and danced with same amount of energies. A MUST watch performance for sure! Both Avatar and her son Hardeep were dressed in red and yellow punjabi costume with pagdis. They used swords and were holding them with their mouth to dance with them which was another highlight. Judges expressions looked pretty happy with the performance. The after performance talk was sweet. The one question that was asked to Avatar about what would she like to change about herself and she answered “health”. Boogie Woogie India wishes her tons of good health and hope she will never have any complain about her health and will live hale and hearty. She also informed that she use to crave for somebody to call her on phone and soon after she appeared on Boogie Woogie, her phone now rings non stop – Awesome!

At this point of time, judges informed that they do have a surprise for one of the mummy but will disclose it later after the break.

The second mummy to perform was Archana Pawar who came in with her friend Darshan Angre. They both were dressed accordingly to their song that they choose and wore a shirt, pant and a tie. Archana did dress up like Madhuri Dixit from the song “Ke Sera Sera” and threw in an energetic performance. The pairing was fabulous and they both together looked fantastic. Archana had a good smile throughout which complimented her performance. The after performance talk was hilarious especially when the judges said she lost weight and she immediately yelled out saying “Stomach hai batayiye”. Judges couldnt control their laugh but carried on their questions trying best to cover the stomach dialogue. Also when she was asked one bollywood actor she would love to pair to dance with, she again was sweet and spontaneous and named Jimmy Shergill. I am sure she made Jimmy’s day!! Javed asked her if she attempted pop for the first time and on knowing she did, he questioned her why and also said that the pair lacked in expressions and in translating the song but on the whole it was a good attempt. No problem Archana, take Javed’s comments positively because very few lucky ones get the chance to hear the million dollar advice. This blog is sure, next year you will come with a bang and walk away with the trophy!

The next mother to perform was Lavanya who came in to dance with her sister Soundarya. Both the sisters came in wearing beautiful kathak dresses which were in green color and threw in a very graceful and beautiful performance. The synchronization between the pair was amazing and it was totally a treat for the eyes to watch. They both danced on Boogie Woogie’s cannot let go of song “Kaahe ched ched”. (Can someone tell me how many times this song has been played on Boogie Woogie??) Even though I got sick of listening to this song again and again on Boogie Woogie, I still enjoyed Lavanya’s performance. The after performance informed us that Lavanya thinks Javed looks good with Priyanka, Naved with Deepika and Ravi with Bipasha Basu. This blog has another choice and will bring it out with explanation in another article But coming back to Lavanya’s performance, JJ (Javed Jaafferi) was highly impressed and complimented her with all the good words. It was utterly hilarious to find out that Lavanya’s only criteria was to marry a fair color guy and she wished to be fair. I think black is beautiful!

The next mother to dance was Jaspal Kaur the same girl who threw in a performance like nobody is watching. I was eagerly waiting to see what she would do this time. She came in with her partner Antra and both were dressed up beautifully in punjabi’s. If you watch Jaspal’s performance, she will again bring a big smile on your face. Her bright smile is pretty infectious. Jaspal and Antra both threw in a beautiful performance. I couldnt see what happened in after performance talk as the power was shut off for few minutes – when will there be power 24/7 in India? Don’t you think its high time?

The fifth mother to perform was Jamna Dathia with her friend Bunty. Both Jamna and Bunty gave a sweet performance. They both were dressed according to their themes and showcased an entertaining number. Now it was time for the judges to come out with the surprise. In after performance talk when judges asked Jamna about her family and brother, she said its been long that she saw her brother. Judges asked her to turn around and she was surprised to see her brother standing in back. It sure was a sweet surprise and Boogie Woogie took an extra step towards their goodness and added few more feathers to their cap. Bravo!! Proud of you guys!! Keep it up on reuniting the family!

The last mother to perform on Friday night was Deepa Singh who came in with her partner Veena. They both danced on yesteryears beautiful number “Tumko piya dil diya bade naaz se”. And so this performance is a Must watch! When you watch Deepa and Veena, you will find like you are not watching a stage performance but a movie number. Both performed it with utmost grace and their costumes, blue and yellow color added extra charm to the performance. The synchronization between the pair was simply beautiful and the expressions were fabulous. Deepa was extra fabulous. Very well done and I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I say - “they took the Friday nights cake away”. The after performance talk was funny. Deepa paired herself with QSQT’s Aamir Khan to dance with and according to them Jeetender and Sridevi were the best pair and especially of movies which Raghavender Rao produced and directed. My sister should be very happy on hearing this as she is his loyal director from past 14 years. Anyway what was really funny was Javed and Naved posing in Jeetender and Sridevi style. Dont miss out – must watch!! It was hilarious Deepa has another quality and that is to speak well. The words that flow from Deepa’s mouth are very sweet and she has a knack to explain things very well.

With the six performances, Boogie Woogie ended its episode to come back on Saturday night with five more mummy’s. They also showed few clippings a number of times and it was on Boogie Woogie auditions and people arranging auditions on Boogie Woogie’s name which are fraud. They also informed not to believe any information that is available anywhere except for the scroll information on TV and that they never charge a penny for the auditions as they are free of cost. We shall put up this information and more details in separate article but please beware and not spend any money on auditions ever!! (Does this rule apply to NRI’s giving auditions abroad?? They sure charge $50/- as an entrance fee to the auditions – Sony any clarifications on this??)

Pop star Michael Jackson has died about little while ago. The singer suffered a cardiac arrest at his home and arrived at hospital in a coma, the Los Angeles Times reported.

It is said that when Michael Jackson arrived at the hospital, he was not breathing. The paramedics performed CPR but he was reportedly totally unresponsive. The singer was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation but nothing could make him breathe.

Michael Jackson has been a big inspiration to many Boogie Woogiens and is close even to the judges heart as they too grew up getting inspired by the great dancer/singer. Boogie Woogie India is deeply shocked by the news and sends our condolences to the family and near and dear friends!

May God rest Michael Jackson’s soul in peace!

Something has been pricking my mind since the time Boogie Woogie started with their Mummy’s Championships. Every third name that was announced to perform, turned out to be from Mumbai. So let’s discuss if Mumbai really produces more talent compared with the rest of India or is it only convenience?

At the start of Mummy’s Championship’s, we already informed that we will try our best in brewing some hot topics for discussions that can add some spice. So here we are trying our best to be evil. But before that let’s look at both the possibilities so that we can discuss safely and fairly

Mumbai – the city to rank as world’s second largest city in the world with 14 million people is considered as India’s financial capital. It contributes to 10 % of all factory employment, 40% of all income tax collections, 60% of all customs duty collections, 20% of excise tax collections. Mumbai also handles 60% of India’s maritime cargo, 25% of Industrial output, 70% of capital transactions to India’s economy. Mumbai is the house for India’s Hindi film and television industry – Bollywood. It attracts many for the standard of living and potential offers and opportunities and in hope to make a place in the big bad world, talent from all over the country rushes to the main hub to taste the success.

So does that mean the talent that Mumbai outputs actually does not belong to Mumbai but to other states and the credit should be given to the candidates state of origin? Or is it that rest of the India can’t match with the competition that Mumbai challenges since the exposure and training is maybe above and helps in outputting a better candidate? Or since the shootings and entertainment world is based in Mumbai, it gets easier to select a Mumbai candidate for the “anytime shooting schedules just like the 2 am phone calls”?

What is your opinion? Why do you think there were 17 candidates from Mumbai itself out of total 47 for all around the world? Why do you think there were 7 finalists from Mumbai who passed the eliminations and joined the final 24? If you ask us - was it fair or is it possible then yes it is fair and possible but then what is not possible in this world?? Whatever is your opinion, please do share with us. As we know Boogie Woogie has completed its elimination rounds, they have selected their final 24 mummy’s to go further with their theme rounds. It sure must not have been easy to select 47 out of many thousands and then select the final 24 to compete for Mummy’s Championships.

Last episode, the judges informed, the first theme that the selected mummy’s will dance on is “Dance with your Favorite Partner”. Today let us try to analyze why the judges picked the theme of dancing with favorite partner as their first round and what conclusion or assumption we can come up with. Maybe it will help us to enjoy the dancing episode better.

I recently was reading an article by Richard Butler and he wrote that “the essence of dancing is to keep physically fit. However dancing is not about physical fitness only. It is great for relationship development.” I think that is a beautiful thought!  Now coming back to Boogie Woogie, since it is Mummy’s Championships, and Mummy’s become mummy’s after being married to their respective partners (at least this happens in India in majority), and so partner plays a very important role. Partnership plays a vital role whether it is a marriage partnership, business partnership or any other form of partnership. Though many know but some might wonder what is a partnership? If we have to define partnership then in one simple word it means “responsibility”. It is an agreement to share the responsibility of achieving a specific goal doesn’t matter what it might be but to do it together keeping the common interest on mind. The credit or blame cannot go to just one person but to both the partners and they stand equally responsible.

Boogie Woogie’s “Dancing with your favorite partner” in first round should keep one at their own comfort levels since they are allowed to pick their own partners. Everyone has a chemistry with a certain person and so when the art and chemistry work together with the understanding, it becomes a perfect pair. A pair not necessarily has to be a male or female in dancing. It can be anyone - it can be a marriage partner, mother daughter, two friends, or one can even dance with someone who they think will make a good dancing partner, it maybe a stranger or a known person but the outcome is expected to be synched, well coordinated and rhythmic performance that can win the judges heart. A partner round performance is expected to be narrated well. It shouldn’t be that the chosen song says one thing but the costumes and the way it is predicted narrates an entire different meaning. And so one must be clear with the meaning of the selected song. As we read earlier that partnership is also about relationship development and so dancing with a partner is the perfect way to develop a relationship between two dancers. It gives them a chance to open themselves and come more closer. Any uncomfortness between two dancers can cost the main dancer elimination. Also both the dancing partners must keep one thing in mind that it is not about individual performance that they are dancing but it is a pair dancing and so the focus must remain equal on both the dancers instead of one fighting for the lime light.  All the finer points must be kept well on mind with the aim to pass and enter into the next round and this effort should be realized by the dancing partner as he or she is coming to help the main dancer qualify with her talent and coordination. It is yet to be seen if the points will be given to both the partners equally or just the main dancer. In my view, dancing with your favorite partner is still risky even though one is choosing their favorite person to dance with because any small or big mistake will still cost the main dancer an elimination. But then the comfort level and confidence that the partner will not ruin their performance can come to aid and make one feel less stressed.

As we set ourselves to enjoy this partner round, we also wish all mothers the very best for the results. May the best mummy win and may it also be one of the best time of their lives for all mummy’s!!

Happy Father’s Day!!

Saturday was the last episode of elimination rounds. From next week onwards the main rounds with the selected mummy’s will begin and so after seeing six mothers perform on Friday night, it was turn of another six mothers to perform on Saturday before the results were declared.

After couple of jokes from the judges, the first mother was announced and it was time for Malti Verma to perform. Malti Verma was dressed as a sardar and grooved on medleys. She started with bachna aye hasino to jee karda to punjabi number. Malti threw in a entertaining performance. The after performance talk was short but interesting to know that her husband who came in to support her works with comics. I don’t know if Boogie Woogie slacked or was the fault from my end but I did not see Malti’s name, age or location on TV screen and hence pardon me as I am not aware from where Malti came but if anyone else knows her location and age, please do update us.

The second mummy to perform was a 37 year old Mini Srivastava who performed on Dil ye bechain ve song from movie Taal. It sure was refreshing to see a number that is not often played on Boogie Woogie like some of the other songs who are loosing their charm due to repeated use and so the taal performance became lot more enjoyable as well. Mini wore a pretty purple and black costume. Her expressions, hand movements were awesome. The rotations that she did were neat and complimented her dance well. The after performance talk was funny and it was fabulous to learn that she performed in front of many presidents and also in front of Rajiv Gandhi who was then the prime minister. She was fortunate to get a chance to perform in many government cultural programs. Mini also completed a course in Kathak. She had an arranged marriage and said her only criteria for marriage was to get into a family who would support her music. She also sang a song fabulously. Mini also showed interest to search for girls for both Ravi and Naved in Lucknow.

The next mummy to perform was Mamta Praveen who is 44 years old and also came from Lucknow. Mamta wore a pretty red ghagra and performed Kathak superbly. I have observed, there are performances which get weighed just because of their songs and then there are performances that put weight to the music because the artist danced fabulously. Mamta’s dance belongs to the second category. If we have to compare all mothers who performed so far then I would definitely say the best kathak up to date was performed by Mamta. She was absolutely graceful and one could enjoy music because of the elegance that she put in her dance and portrayed it so beautifully. She also carried her smile all the way. I thoroughly enjoyed her dance from her very first second till her last second! Mamta’s after performance talk was funny especially the dialogue delivery between Javed and her regarding spectacles and eye number. Her answer on her obesity saying that “mujhe ghamand nahi hai” and “husband ko ghumaya” was fabulous.

The fourth mummy to perform was 37 year old Shilpa Joshi who came in from Mumbai and danced to Himmesh’s Mehbooba mehbooba song from Ram Gopal Verma’s blockbuster film “Ram Gopal Verma ke Sholay”. Honestly, do we have a single member here who saw that lousy movie? If yes, I would love to know your review. Anyway back to Shilpa, she performs beautifully and does a big favor to both Ram Gopal Verma and Himmesh by dancing on this song. If anyone asks me what ONE thing I would remember related to RGV’s Sholay’s, I sure will be saying Shilpa’s dance. That is THE only good thing that I will remmeber! Shilpa was pretty fast in her dance steps and her expressions were good. Shilpa’s performance should get her a title of “cool mother” in all younger generation as she fits to their criteria and if there was voting, she sure would grab all their votes. I also thinks she resembles in Bipasha Basu. Her after performance talk informed us that she had appeared last year but was out from eliminations and this should be taken positively by rest of the mothers of this site as there is hope for them too and so they must continue practicing and polishing their talent. Shilpa got compliments from Ravi and Javed.

The next mummy to perform was Mamta Srivastava who came in from Delhi and she danced superbly on song “Prem jaal mein phas gayi” – a Govinda’s hit number. Mamta as judges pointed out wasn’t scared or feared to dance on Boogie Woogie stage and threw in an energetic performance. She danced freely and just like nobody is watching. The way she changed her steps with the change in music was fabulous and her bending backwards should definitely get her lots of credits. She makes a place for herself among the most flexible mothers. Mamta got standing ovation from Javed and also from Ravi and Naved. Judges were extremely happy with her performance. It was interesting to know that Mamta is a teacher, and also choreographs, she is also into singing, dancing, cooking, acting and many other hobbies. She proves to be a perfect super mom.

The last mother to perform was Chitralekha Chaturvedi who came in from Indoor. Chitralekha is 38 years old and wore a beautiful red lehanga and danced on yesteryears golden number. She threw in a beautiful and sweet performance. I really wished her performance could be a little longer and felt it ended too quickly. Her after performance talk was funny when she asked the judges not to call her behan “sister” and also when judges asked her if she went on honeymoon she thought for a while and answered yes. Chitralekha teaches kathak and has been in the profession for past 15 years. She is an ex boogie woogien. She paid respects and gave credit to her mother and her eyes were moist while talking about her.

Okay so now was the time to know who the lucky mummy’s would be who would join the rest of the selected mummy’s in next round. Javed announced that this week they selected 7 mothers and the ones that got selected were:

4) Shilpa Joshi
5) Mamta Srivastava
6) Mini Srivastava
7) Mamta Praveen
