April 25th - Review of Boogie Woogie Himmat ki Kheemat Return of the Champs

Saturday night judges were back with some of the best PJ’s and this time Javed joined Ravi and Naved in the PJ’s and talked about his parrot Champu. Ravi and Naved were their best too with the jokes. But wait… Naved, a phone call to Kareena Kapoor?? Come on!! You can do better! How about Sushmita Sen or Preety Zinta? I would love to see Sushmita Sen on Boogie Woogie one day. I love her! :D

Okay the first one to perform is our favorite poetess “Shivalika Dhait” who is only 9 years old and came from Gadchiroli. She danced a classical number to song “Mohe panghat pe”. Now Shivalika is an awesome dancer and this was the same number that she had performed during finals and won the championships last year. I love her as a poet, as a dancer and an adorable fantastic kid. The only problem I always find is her is expressions especially when it comes to adult songs like Mohe panghat par. It is absolutely not her fault as she is too young to understand the meaning and depth to give out the expression that is required so it is natural to see what she does her best and so her expressions went little over board but as a dancer, she is very talented and graceful and I absolutely adore her. I get thrilled every time I see her on Boogie Woogie stage. I am sure when she grows up and understands the meaning of this same song better, she would surely give out a performance that no dancer in India can give. God bless her! Okay now comes the after performance talk - as usual when Shivalika is on stage, my ears are sharper and I wait for her to narrate her poetry and so it was wonderful yet again to listen to her. I really really hope she never gives up her talent and will keep on working on it. Her family talked about the after effects of Naache Taare Zameen Par and what stardom she faced upon returning to her hometown. A celebration clipping was showed and it was wonderful to see Shivalika enjoying all the attention with a very sweet smile on her face. Her family spoke very high of Boogie Woogie and also acknowledged their gratitude.

Now was the turn of Kolkata’s little Mithun - Sanoy Dev who is thoroughly impressed with Sharukh Khan and most of the time dances to his numbers. And this Saturday night night he danced brilliantly to a song “nakhra nakhra”. He showed LOTS of improvement from last time and included some stunts too and carried with same amazing energies. The splits and standing on his head, were neatly attempted. A very well done job for a 9 year old. The after performance talk here was extremely funny because of judges. It was natural, sweet, funny and adorable.

Next participant to perform was Visishtha Duseja who is a beautiful 12 year old and hails from Mumbai. She danced on song “Kaanta laga”. She was dressed just like a banjaran and danced well. She also used the stage well. It was a very cute performance. Her after performance talk was funny especially the dialogues between her and Ravi.

Now comes the highlight of the Friday and Saturday night show - a performance by Viren Raj Baraik. This 9 year old from Ranchi made me his fan last time itself when he appeared on Naache Taare Zameen Par and I really was hooting for him to win and was actually confident that he would be the co winner. But what happened has happened and so when I saw Viren’s clipping that he would be performing on Saturday night, I just couldnt move from my seat even though there were million things going on in my life. I was crazily busy but took entire time out for Boogie Woogie - it is one show I wouldn’t miss for anything else in this world. And coming to Viren’s dance, all I can say is “he” is the best talent found of Boogie Woogie and he definitely (God Willingly) will do wonders in years to come. There are other performers and then there is Viren who sets his record to a new high every time that he is on stage. Watch him dance superbly and flawlessly on “Jai Ho” as he was fantabulously awesome in all his stunts. What Alicia, Jai Kumar Nair, Amit have made names for themselves, I see Viren just like them or even more tomorrow. This kid needs to be watched. He sure is a winner! The after performance talk was fabulous. Javed, Naved and Ravi praised Viren and his talent and the best thing to that is Viren’s response to the praises. He is making sure to keep his feet firmly on ground and that is the way to go. Viren I am extremely proud of you. Keep it up!!

The next to perform is the cute doll - Nupur Bhatt. This 9 year old from Mumbai dances as adorable as she herself is. Every time she is on stage, she reminds me of all the sweets and desserts. She danced to a mix of songs and did a pretty good job. It was great to see Nupur’s daadi and also the entire family. A family who brings a big smile on face and so we heard Nupur’s dad sing fabulously but what was more funny were the judges. Watch them and their expressions, they killed Mr. Bhats singing to the core with their hilarious expressions. LOL

The last performer of the Saturday night was the Naache Taare Zameen Par champion Vaishnavi Patil who is only 8 years old and came from Pune. For a 8 year old, she is loads and zillions of talent. She danced to the same number that she performed on finale of Naache Taare Zameen Par - a beautiful song one of my favorite “Breathless” by Shankar Mahadevan and I think Shankar outdid himself and set a record to a new high. I yet have to see a singer who can sing so breathlessly but coming to Vaishnavi’s performance, she did a wonderful job. Her expressions - watch they were beautiful. They don’t make you feel out of place nor give you the feeling that why this 8 year old is making such faces. She is perfect in her act and so I loved her performance. The after performance talk was interesting as she told what name and fame Vaishnavi is enjoying in her home town. And the awards and rewards and attention is well enjoyed by her entire family. She too narrated a beautiful sher for Boogie Woogie.

After the flash back the results were announced and you wont believe this when Javed said there were two winners, my heart was pounding so fast as I waited to hear the name that I wanted to hear. Call me bias but there was one name which stood out and I really wanted to hear wide and clear right from judges mouth and so was happy to hear - VIREN RAJ BARAIK!! and of course our perfect doll - Vaishnavi Patil.

JAI HO Boogie Woogie!!! and Thank You! You made me very happy!! (Now can we ask you to call Swasti back on stage please? ;)    )
