As Firdaus has announced the auditions for the second quarter will be for Mummy’s Championship, we thought we would put a reminder article of do’s and don’ts that may be helpful.

Include a cover letter mentioning your interest in Boogie Woogie in Mummy’s championships. Prepare yourself a good introduction – think of how you would introduce yourself best at least amount of time. Maybe it is a good idea to mention few lines about your family and your flexibility. Don’t write a story. Be specific but be clear in the message your want to send across. (VERY IMPORTANT - Get your family consent so that there are no problems in future.)
Fill in your application form and make a copy of it for your records. Your application acts like your resume. Prepare yourself well according to your application and be ready to answer if you are asked anything from it.
Make a clear Video CD, label it with your name, the song that you are dancing on, film name, and music company name. Make sure you don’t select any song from the company’s that are not allowed. Boogie Woogie has listed few companies that you CANNOT play their music. T-Series, Yash Raj, Big Music and any international music labels are the ones that you cannot use.
Choose your best song for the audition video CD. Get a second and third opinion from others before making it. Be fluent and flawless in your performance.
Make sure none of the songs that you dance have vulgar meaning or feel to it.
Your audition needs to be no more then 2 minutes so trim your song well to its best part and prepare well.
I dont think costume is needed for your audition CD but if you think it might add to its strength then go for it.
Please make your video in sufficient light so that your dance and expressions are clearly seen.
Have a good quality for your audio song that you will be dancing on. It should be heard clearly in your video CD.
Make sure there are no background noises or disturbances
If possible, show your dance prior to the person who is recording so that he or she gets a feel of how to focus their camera while you are dancing.
Request your camera person to take a clear video especially when you give out your expressions and your best movements.
Prepare your song by understanding the meaning of all words well.
Last but not least - Have PATIENCE and wait to hear from Firdaus - continue to practice and pray - Keep yourself always on positive note.

Thanks I really loved ur decription its perfect. Shika its not that below 40 cannot participate but there is always an edge for elderly women as audience would love to watch elder woman dancing than a young mother otherwise the show does not look like mummy championship but if u think u r grt talent please send us the cd across

1. What is the cut off date to send you the CD.
2. It is becoming very difficult for me to cut the song at 2 minutes. Normally, initial music is long enough. Will you consider it if it is more than 2 minutes?

There is no cut off date but as soon as possible u should send it like end of march .
Look your dance should look great if u perform for more than 2 mins its not ideal coz Raviji and I can judge u r dance in jst 45 seconds thats more than enough dont have long music piece there shud be more lyrics and movements . Like dont start slow and then a pick up as we watch thousands of Cd’s every day we dont have the patience to watch the whole performance whatever we see in the first 45 sec is what impression we make about the dance and if its really good we watch the whole performance .
I hope u Understand how much load of work we have and its not easy with the kind of pressures.

I dont know when the auditions for children will begin but we can safely assume that all auditions need to be sent via VCD to Firdaus and as it matches her requirement, she will invite. so please make sure to make a clear VCD and send it to her along with application form.

yes NG dear, you can still apply for audition. you can go for audition personally to the nearest location near you. auditions are scheduled on may 1st, 2nd and 3rd. please see the addresses and contact number on home page, audition page and also under audition category.
in case you are not able to go personally then you can send your dance VCD by mail to Firdaus.

Meena, if you are sending ur CD, you need to send it to Firdaus. i want to ask u a question, there are auditions scheduled on may 1st 2nd and 3rd, are any of the location closer to you that you can personally go for them? if you can pls go for the audition or else send it to firdaus. what i heard is… when they receive CD, they view it, and if it matches their requirement, they will contact you.
if u really want to sure that they recieve it then when u mail, attach a delivery receipt so that way when they receive they have to sign the receipt but also find out if any locations nearby and go for the auditions..this way u dont have to depend on ur camera person to make a good CD.. boogie woogie will make it for you there… all the best dear!

I really admire you for doing such an excellent job. I am very much thankful to you for all this information.
I have few questions regarding these auditions:
1. How much important the ‘costume’ is for the auditions? (They say that the costume is not important)
2. How much time the results take.(It’ll be very difficult to wait)
3. Is the registration mandatory? (They are not giving any registration number)
4. How many songs we need to prepare dance with? (I read somewhere that we need to prepare 3 songs amongst they’ll choose one.)
5. Who’ll be the judge??

1) costume and make up is not important for auditions.
2)how much time to know the results? - well what we came to know last year is that since they had auditions at multiple cities at almost same time so they had recorded auditions to be viewed later and with that we can jump to conclusion that if the same format is being followed then when you go there, your audition may only be recorded and they will send you home. they will contact later with the results. (i am assuming.. things might be different but if u can get hold of the phone numbers, pls do ask them)
3)regarding registration .. they can answer better.. i only wrote because last year when participants called they took names and as soon as they had number of participants, they refuse to pick their phones… so it would be a good idea if u can get hold of them asap and give ur name. maybe no registration number will be alloted but as long as ur name is with them, it should be fine. But in case u are not able to get through those phone lines.. dont worry.. u have audition address.. go to that address straight and dont move till u give ur audition.
4) how many songs? .. u will be performing only on one song and that shouldn’t last more then 2 minutes. so cut ur song to the best part but u must prepare at least 3 songs in case ur prepared song belongs to the restricted songs list then u have a change of song ready. i am assuming when u go for audition, they will ask u what song u will perform on, at that point they will say okay if ur best song is good or else will request u to change the song so for that matter choose ur 3 best songs no longer then 2 mins each.
5)who will be the judge? .. i think boogie woogie team is going to record auditions and there maynot be any judges for auditions.. again i am assuming … but i think once these recordings are brought back to R & N Productions, Firdaus, Ravi and Naved should look at them and sort the finalists.. i am only assuming not 100 percent sure.
i will have all these points and few more published soon in another article for easy access.

You have mentioned in terms and conditions that we should not select songs from Yash Raj, Big Music and any other international brands.
Does this include even Sony-BMG ? all Hindi songs belong to one or other brands.
currently the show includes songs from international brands ?

one more query…which just came across my mind….
at Lucknow itself there are more than 100 registered particpants( I know that as one known person has her reg number 104)so that means all cities total participants will be atleast 500…. how many will be chosen for the shoot? 20-25? that means tough competition ..right?

In Delhi only, the number of participants was more than 500. So, we can say that total number of participants would be around 3000 to 4000 and they have to chose only 20-25. oooffff!! Its really really tough.

4) nisha and juliana… i am so happy u girls went for the auditions.. well as far as we know, firdaus did tell us that the auditions will be for 40 plus mummys but they recording the auditions for all mummy’s might mean that either they changed their mind or else have taken auditions for later time too. there is possibility that if they have mummy’s championship for only 40 plus mummy’s then ur audition tapes might be reviewed for later times especially when they have young mummy’s championships or for another category.. either way it should be all good. if your performance went very well, then sooner or later they will call you. good talent cant go unnoticed from boogie woogie so wait and pray dear. all the best

hi admin , hope u r finr now. i went for audition in delhi. the form which we got over there was quite short as compaared to the normal B W form there was no coloumn for achievements or extra curr.activities so how can i let them know about this as i have won many competitions and done number of performances. should i send it personally to them ????? as on camera we were asked to say our name ,kids and location. please clearify .it will be a great help for me .

This is Swati, I have gone for audition to hyderabad from bangalore on 3rd May. Now i am waiting for the results But before that i ave some doubts.
1. My age is 28 but when i was giving audition they didnt tell me regarding the age factor as such.
2. I saw lots of participants performing on songs which are from Yashraj Music, Big Music and T-series.So just wanted to know they will be disqualified or not because in audition they didnt say anything.
3. Because of music copyright company issue i took one tamil song Apdi podu podu.
So just wanted to know what are my chances to get through into the auditions.

1) Ekta dear.. I dont think there is any necessity to send them additional information if they havent asked for it. Maybe that was quick way to select mummy’s based on their dance talent and maybe they might give the additional form later to the selected mummys afterwards. plus remember what Firdaus said, they are very busy and have to scan the candidates in 45 seconds time each.. so I think its not necessary to send them anything. there is very good chance that they might not have time to look at it after all. wish you all the very best dear..
2)swati dear.. about the age factor, only we knew on this site as Firdaus had informed us. I dont know if they had changed their mind later on regarding the age for mummys and thats why they didnt advertise on tv but they taking the auditions without restricting would mean either that the mummys championship is for all ages or else they have taken auditions but will use the younger mummys for later time. we just have to wait and watch. but as for the music - sony forms, rules and regulations clearly says “no yash raj, t series, big music and international labels” are allowed so they technically shouldnt allow and must disqualify the contestants with that music but with sony you never know - they have their head somewhere and writing goes somewhere else.. like for instance, the form on their official site.. rule number 1 says: “All people irrespective of their age can participate in the auditions. Participants who are below 18 years on the date of audition must be accompanied by their natural or legal guardian”
now tell me what do they mean by this?.. lol.. either they are inviting mummys below age 18 or more likely when they prepared the form, didnt pay enough attention. such things are expected from sony.. maybe they dont have dedicated staff to pay attention to..lol anyway, I think you did well dear .. just pray and wait for the results.. if the mummys is only for 40 plus and if they dont call you now then they will call later for younger mummys provided they like your work. all the best dear

I want to say somthing on black listed music. Yes, in Delhi also, few mummys performed on Yash Raj, T-series music. I know a lady who was carrying Yash Raj music CD. Initially, they refused her but as she had come from Jaipur and she didn’t know any place outside to go and get a new CD, she requested many times and then they allowed her saying that ‘if she would be called, she’ll have to change the song’. I think, it is nice of them.

hi nisha ,welcome to mummy’s toli . i always try smthing different like few days back on mothers day i have performed on jai ho in fusion style including daandiya i have also taught locking and popping on the song mere paas aao mere dosto of mr. natwarlal to my students. u also try to cm on 14 nisha .

I just cant tell you how proud i am of all you mummys. Keep it Up!! I am sure your group is going to rock!!! and with ekta knowing kathak, hip hop, fusion, popping, locking, daandiya and so many things, i am sure you all can come up with a mind blowing theme and choreograph a number that will be set the stage on fire. way to go girls… keep it up!! if you need my assistance with anything, just know i am there with you 100 percent!
garima dear dont worry if u r too far from other girls.. i am sure with webcam, you all will be together and can make it possible.

hi toli..i spoke to Ekta during yesterdays’s show….
they said that for 4 rounds they would have elimination round….do u think they must have called all 47 selected participants for the shoot already?
secondly…. during the show I came to know that they called up the selected participant at 2am…and
my cell is off from 10pm to 6 am.. But u know what..i m thinking that they might have called…( wishful thinking) and so I am 
happy 
thinking that….sochne mein kya jaata hai….
han lekin…i wish kisi tarah se we come to know ki in whcih way can we appear on BOOGIE WOOGIE…..hai na ?

are kuch khass nahi he said we have such a overwhemning response to mothers special that we are going in a grand way this time and maao aur jyada taadad mein aao…………… i m sure it was a slip of tongue as it surely did not mean ki they r accepting more entries…kyunki uss episode k baad hi mummys special shuru ho gaya…..
my only doubt is kya un logo ne saare 47 selected logo ko ek saath bulaya hai ya baad mein bhi bula rahe hain….
ho sakta hai calls kar di hon ek saath lekin bulaane ki dates alag alag hon….
final say is ki mummy ki toli mein se kisi ko call nahi aaya hai and isiliye un logo ko hum special peshkash kar sakte hain ki mummiyon ki toli un k mummy fianl mein episode ..jo 10 HAFTO BAAD hoga us mein special group dance karna chahti hain….wat say ?

Ankita dear.. we are not aware of any auditions that is happening right now with Boogie Woogie but keep watching the show, when they have auditions they will telecast it there and we sure will bring you the same information on this website.
