March 20th - Review of Boogie Woogie Himmat ki Kheemat

Today Boogie Woogie started with its new series called "Himmat ki Kheemat". It will be a group dance competition where they will be plenty of prizes every week and the best group performing will walk away with all the prizes.

Four groups performed today and four will be performing on Saturday night. And the best among these eight groups will be the winner. It was exciting to see prizes and the show in its new light.

I really liked the way Boogie Woogie started with its recap and showed what happened last week. That was good job! But I personally feel Mumbaians can’t spell Kheemat. They always write the word as Kimmat - Change in spelling is demanded or the person whoever wrote needs to do gargle ;) Though the judges stress on the word to make audience learn the right pronunciation but looks like the editor skipped out on the pronunciation lesson. lol But I really liked the way the series was introduced by Ravi, Naved and Javed - it was different and something that picks your interest instantly. The best thing I found was the way they tried to correct the pronunciation of many words like Microwave oven. That’s whats up! I think Boogie Woogie is the only show which is informative, acts as a teacher and at the same time maintain its lighter side.

The first group to perform was Vaishnavi Group from Saharanpur and they danced on song "aaj radha ko shaam yaad aagaya". Boogie Woogie’s group performances I always enjoy. They have their own charm. And so today you will have the same feeling and will not be disappointed. Girls did a fantastic job and were dressed colorful. They were also synched. The group used the entire stage and the performance gave you a festive feeling. Great selection of song and mixing. Coordination of the group was fabulous. On the whole - a fabulous performance. After performance talk was hilarious. I liked the four pillar thing. It was the cutest thing to watch kids coming in again and again to take away the microphone from their parents. The group got great compliments from the judges. The wish one of the parent made  in favor of Boogie Woogie was mind blowing. Amen to that!

The next group to perform was Ankita Group from Indore and they performed Kathak on classical song. I am not aware of the title but the performance was graceful. I don’t want to go in technicalities but there are some dances when you watch they sound peaceful, serene to you. It makes you feel good. This dance was one of that! It was beautifully put and all the girls did a great job. My only problem I felt was it was too short. I really was enjoying the performance but it got over too fast. I wished it had continued little longer. Keep it up Ankita Group! The after performance talk was again very interesting and entertaining. Listen to Naved and Ravi talk about how Javed and them learnt dance and how they were creative. A important lesson to be learnt for all dancers.

At this point Sony Entertainment Television ran a clarification on screen that said "DEAR VIEWERS, PLEASE NOTE THAT SONY ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION HAS NOT HELD ANY AUDITIONS FOR BOOGIE WOOGIE IN ANY CITY IN INDIA SINCE SEPTEMBER 2008 AND AS OF DATE HAS NOT FINALIZED ANY DATES FOR FUTURE AUDITIONS. THESE AUDITIONS HAVE BEEN AND ALWAYS BE WITHOUT ANY PARTICIPATION FEE. PLEASE REMAIN CAUTIOUS OF ANY FALSE ADVERTISEMENTS OF AUDITIONS HELD BY THIRD PARTIES ON BEHALF OF SONY ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION"

I hope all participants have made a note of the above clarification. And also all those who were enquiring about audition dates, I hope are all clear now. But REMEMBER no FEE at all for auditions so if you see one taking, inform them! I know America Boogie Woogie did charge fee!!

Watch Ravi and Naved eat gold ;)

The next group to perform on Friday night was Nritya Vatika Dance Academy from Delhi. They performed semi classical and did a great job. They danced on the song from movie "Tohfa" and the song was "tohfa qubool hai hame". All five girls danced well. The after performance talk was interesting and very touching especially the mother and son moment. It sure must be difficult for kids who have both parents as working parents.

The last group for the night was Shree Group from Baroda and I am telling you - its one performance you dont want to miss!! Must must watch!! They danced on song "Mere dholna". It was a big group but the coordination and the synchronization between the group was simply fabulous. This can surely be added to one of the Boogie Woogie’s finest performances. I can say it was the best performance for the night. Don’t miss it! Get the reruns or you can watch either at Apni Community or India Forums. They are doing a great job by uploading videos, make sure to watch them. After performance talk was again interesting and funny. The best thing was when Javed talked about unity. We will talk in detail during the week day. But it was the cutest and sweetest thing to watch the parent of Shree on the stage. Absolutely adorable!!

With this Friday’s episode ended and on Saturday night another four groups will perform and whoever wins will walk away with all the prizes. So all the very best to all the groups!

Boogie Woogie winded the show with a cooking class and taught a priceless lesson of how to cook chicken in microwave oven - watch it!!  ;)
