What Boogie Woogie Fans Have to Say About Boogie Woogie

77D_boogie_woogie_show-2 Boogie Woogie India is proud to bring you reviews of Sony’s Boogie Woogie by Boogie Woogie Fans. As they say – the best praise that can be taken as the highest reward is not the one that is given by media or at any award ceremony but the one that is given by the people who play big role in a show’s success – the viewers of course! And so here is what fans had to say about the show – Enjoy!

  • The episode telecast at the U.A.E. had fantastic five troupes. Each had a distinct dance style and fantastic choreography. From Vande Mataram, Mickel Jackson, humorous tamil song presentation to Durga pooja. The troupe from Pune who presented the Matha Vandana and the group who presented "Vetti Madithukatu" were selected to the next stage. These trios and the guest  Jackie Shroff must have had a real tough time to choose from them. I was really surprised to know that none of them who had presented tamil film song knew tamil  nor had seen the original film dance. Yet it was amazing that the choreography represented the meaning of song ( I being a tamilian) and I also could nt control the laughter just as those who were there in the live audience. Kudos to them.
Kudos to the trio and Sony

  • These days there are many dance shows on tv.Most of them are so-called reality shows where you must dance and sweet-talk with celebrity judges.Boogie-Woogie does this too but differently. Here is a show that’s totally given to excellence. The focus is on individual innovation and not on celebrity-choreographer hotc-potch.This show started by Naved Jaffery,Ravi Behl and Javed Jaffery proved that dance shows were possible on indian television. As we know, these people started real small. For years they were a kind of sideshow.then, one realised that they were actually attracting serious dancers.People who want to dance well and nothing else.We have seen some awesome performances on Boogie-Woogie.Primarily because innovation, ideation and above all creation is encouraged here. There are other dance shows too.But they are too focussed on mindless entertainment.Boogie Woogie(the name is outdated) provides a platform for the serious, dedicated dancer no matter how you look, your age or your weight.Only your skills and showmanship are considered nothing else.Hats off to Boogie Woogie and may their tribe increase.

  • I have been watching this show since I was a kid” say most kids in their late teens and early 20’s on the show.  Javed, Naved, and Ravi, the creators, the hosts, and the judges of the show never get tired of listening to this phrase over and over because it has been around for 12 years.  These three incredibly cool people make everybody feel welcomed and they give exposure to the much needed talented kids of India.  Due to the warmth and the passion for dance in this show, the show has audience of all ages.  It was off air for a little while but came back with a boom or should I say “BOO!”.  As most of the viewers of the show, I too enjoyed the leg pulling of the contestants and the comedy done by all of the judges.  However, this show is more about talent.  I am so amazed by the contestants on this show.  As a viewer, you get to see a variety ranging from hip-hop dances to classical dances of India.   Some are excellent break dancers while some are excellent folk dancers. After its reincarnation, the show has become more serious.  The stage looks more stylish and it seems as if the producers are spending more money now than before.  They are also including money prizes these days to encourage people to continue their dreams in the dancing industry.  Another good thing about this show is that the hosts are promoting our Indian Culture across the Globe.  They have made dancing a medium through which they reach children of Indian descent from all over the world.  They do many good things that are good for children to learn.  For example, they always pay respect to the elders who come to watch their grand children.  In additioin, they encourage kids to dance to songs that are more appropriate for them according to their age.  For example, Javed pointed out to a girl who was only 12 but was dancing in an improper way to an inappropriate song.  These are just few things that make it a good family entertaining show.
