Today Friday October 24th 2008 saw group dances on the theme “Old is Gold” where various groups from different regions participated. Five groups performed on Friday night and another four will be performing tomorrow on Saturday October 25th.
Today yet another sensible lesson was talk about on Boogie Woogie by the mentors. I just love the way these guys mix humor with serious topics. Anyway we will talk about it another time. Right now let me get you the review of today’s episode.
The five groups that performed in Fridays episode were:
Destiny Group Academy
Star Dance Academy
Blossom Group
Tarun’s Dance Group
Gana Natraj Dance Academy
The first group - Destiny Group Academy from Pune. The choose Kishore Kumar song from Chalti ka Naam Gaadi “Hum the woh thi aor sama rangeen samaj gaye na”. The group of dancers acted like car mechanics who worked in a car garage called “Confusion Garage”. The dance was good but the judges remark was they were confused of what they were trying to imply and did not understand their act. Anyway, a good performance and well done group!
The next group to perform was Star Dance Academy who are from Mumbai and they choose yesteryears golden number “Piya tu ab toh aaja”. The entire group performed well and it was a enjoyable number with equally interesting costumes.
Then it was Blossom Group’s turn who hail from Nagpur. They too choose yesteryear’s golden number “Kaho ji tum kya kya khareedoge”. A Vijayantimala number and all the girls performed their dance absolutely graceful. The expressions were fabulous and costumes were fantastic. You will surely enjoy this number.
Next to perform were Tarun’s Dance Group from Jodhpur, Rajasthan. They choose a Shammi Kapoor golden number from movie Brahmachaari and the song was Chake pe chaka gadi pe gaadi. It was beautiful performance with some dialogues and from movie Pariwaar and Brahmachaari in between. They got good remarks from judges.
And now the last group but the ones who gave the best performance for the evening’s turn. I don’t know if this group will win tomorrow or will there be another group to beat this group’s energy and perfection but I personally felt this group took the cake today. Anyway the last group to perform on this Friday night was Gana Natraj Dance Academy from Mumbai who choose a real masterpiece from movie “Navrang” of V. Shantaram’s and the song was “Jaa re ja oh natkhat”. The entire group was dressed marvellously in double costumes of a girl and a guy and they all were in perfect sync. It was the performance that was highly enjoyable. Good job guys!!
Tomorrow four more groups will be performing and then the results will be announced. Lets see who will take the tropic for Diwali Special.
Enjoy the videos for now!
