Association of Indians in America is celebrating its 21st Deepavali Festival in New York City on October 5th 2008.
The festival will be held at South Street Seaport in Downtown Manhattan from 12 pm to 8 pm.
The most interesting part of this festival as per their advertisement they say is “Boogie Woogie” has agreed to have Boogie Woogie America Finals on its open stage on October 5th. All the finalists will get to perform on the stage. I did make few phone calls to find out if this is true and they said the news to be true though I am not sure if Naved and Ravi are going to be coming in as judges or not.
There is no entrance fee to this festival and it is an open invitation to all.
To participate in this festival you can call (212) 627-2522
Among other eminent personalities, Raghav is supposed to be present to grace the occasion. He also is going to be releasing his new album at this festival.
There are going to be authentic Indian food stalls, stores and many other goodies to make this event an enjoyable one. There will also be fireworks at the end of the show.
The key sponsors of this event are Sony and Air India. Other sponsors who have been roped in are New York Life, Citi, Western Union, State Bank of India, Habib American Bank, Prudential, Money Gram.
The show news can be viewed on ITV, TV Asia.
BoogieWoogieIndia.Com wishes all the finalists Very Best Wishes for the finals!! Go and give a blasting performance!

how can they have finals in open air during festival? wont that be distracting? what about security? and many people will come to know results before its telecasted - i think its bad idea.
but will be worth watching the finals live, nothing like it.
thkz dude for the details.
do we need to make reservation to be there?

how come ravi and naved may not be present for boogie woogie?
who will judge if its not them?
i think indian american kids do deserve fairness and they should judge and not leave it on somebody else.
